I know there have been posts about lag with cod4 but nobody has seemed to have problems from the very beginning.

It installed fine and everything is dandy until I get to the start menu. I move the mouse in real life and it lags taking about 2-3 seconds to move it on the screen. Same is with the movements and mouse with in-game. I can't play it like that.

I have:

Vista Basic

AMD Athlon Processor 3500+

1GB RAM

160GB but only about 36.3GB left becuz of vista installation

Nvidia 8500 256MB video card

and a 500watt power supply.

So I pass the minimum and I think recommeneded requirements. Anybody have any solutions or suggestions?

Thanks alot.

1GB of RAM? That's your problem there. You can't run Vista Basic with 1GB of Ram. It won't work. Tried it and discovered that a minimum of 2GB is needed just to run Vista, much less, any programs including games. If your 1GB is two chips, then you will have to buy two 1GB chips. If your 1GB is one chip, then you will only need to buy one 1GB chip. Once you have 2GB in that beast, it will wake up from the dead and scare you with so much speed, you will have to breath deep to handle it. LOL!!!

are you using dual monitors? Oh, and just try enabling dual-card in the options. It solved the problem, for another person I know.

Upgrade my RAM or my video card? Cuz when I got it the computer guy said that card will run almost any game for a few years.

Both... the computer guy lied. You shouldn't even think of using vista unless you have 2gb of ram and the 8500gt is not a gaming card. Looks like you got suckered!

Well there I figured it out. It was beyond simple. All I had to do was update my video card driver and download patch v1.7. It works like a charm now. Good game.

Your card sucks;

and you need more RAM.
