COD 4 Lag From Start

I know there have been posts about lag with cod4 but nobody has seemed to have problems from the very beginning.

It installed fine and everything is dandy until I get to the start menu. I move the mouse in real life and it lags taking about 2-3 seconds to move it on the screen. Same is with the movements and mouse with in-game. I can't play it like that.

I have:

Vista Basic

AMD Athlon Processor 3500+

1GB RAM

160GB but only about 36.3GB left becuz of vista installation

Nvidia 8500 256MB video card

and a 500watt power supply.

So I pass the minimum and I think recommeneded requirements. Anybody have any solutions or suggestions?

Haven't re-installed. Installed patch v1.6. Just one monitor. I'll go out and get another GB of ram, hopefully that will work. Thanks alot.

u mean two monitors right? i just have one monitor. not a flatscreen either. and how do i enable dual-card. in the game or my graphics card program?KttnmoufKing

in the game. go to options. click on "dual cards".....to make it yes.

You are trying to play COD4 with an 8500gt and 1gb on vista? Wrong choice buddy, time to upgrade!simardbrad

Upgrade my RAM or my video card? Cuz when I got it the computer guy said that card will run almost any game for a few years.
