I never played the first one. I played Commandos 2 and 3. 2 was fantastic. 3 was a disappointment compared to 2. Lastly there is Commandos Strike Force, with which I played only the demo. Very lame attempt to turn it from a strategy game to a shooter.
Also I never played online, but I always heard nothing but positive things about Commandos 2 online.
