It got tanks before you got a 20 or so fuel to get machine gun nest??? It is imposible!!!!!!

Replay or it didint happend. Im starting to think that you are doing something horribly wrong in this game . I just gave you a replay when I win with AI on expert and its wasnt hard at all . Did you played any RTS besides CC?

Also, if you go to google, and search "turtle mod company heroes", you will find a mod someone made to specifically "keep the CPU from cheating" by keeping it from rushing you because it starts out with resources and some other stuff that basically you have to earn. It makes a "no-rush" period to where you can set up defenses and it also evenly distributes the territory at the begining of the game. Weapons are disabled during this set time period too. You can set it for 5 mins, 10 mins or 20 mins.

It is not getting tanks before I get a machine gun nest, but it will have motorcycles, engineers, snipers and troops before I can get a MG nest on the main bridge, that is correct.

[QUOTE="blinn79"]

2. When the skirmish started on Lyon, I used the engineers that already are there to make baracks. Then immediatly clicked the Jeeps three times. As soon as the first came out, I sent it directly to the bridge. Followed by the 2nd and 3rd Jeep. I used Jeeps, because the CPU always beats my troops there. Well guess what, somehow, amazingly, the CPU had already built the equivilant of my heavy weapons, and had snipers and other troops on my side of the map. How do troops, especially from multiple different buildings, get built, and pumped out and on foot move a longer distance then my first 3 jeeps with nothing else being built?

Immediately after you start the game, have the engineers that are already there go get a resource point. Produce another engineer who build a barracks. Then produce two more engineers that focus on getting resource points. You end up quickly getting resource points which you could use for infantry and defensive weapons. You could use the engineers to build machine gun nests to help stop the AI for getting your resource points.

3. When I tried blowing the bridges in Lyon, and sent 3 different units of Engineers to each bridge. By the time they got there, the CPU has already taken over it's entire side of the map, made a heavy weapons equivelant, a motor pool equivilant and pumped out units from each building and got them to the bridge in the time it took me to make 3 Engineer units and send them to the bridge. How is that possible? How did it have the resources already to build those things in the first 90 to 100 seconds of the game? Why is it that my troops can't make it to the bridges before his motorcycle (Jeep equivilant), but when you look back at what I just wrote on reason #2, the CPU can?

4. When I did take over almost my entire side of the map, I produced a large number of tanks, and different various other vehicles. My vehicles were being trashed by souly infantry from the CPU. Now generally when standard troops go up against even a motorcycle with a single .50 cal., they get killed fairly quick, assuming a standard 3 man unit. As I was starting to beat the CPU, I actually made two half tracks with the quad .50 cal., upgrade and went around my side of the map to clean up the last few CPU troops. Well a standard (not heavy machine gun, or gernaide launchers) infantry of 6 men, took out my two half tracks. Now I am not a math major in college, but with a total of eight .50 caliber machine guns firing at six soldiers on foot, armed only with standard rifles, with no cover, they should have been shredded! Instead they took out two armor vehicles. It was literally just like the HQ health meter situation. I watched the half tracks shoot them for about 60 seconds while only maybe two died and my half tracks health dropping VERY quickly. Maybe they were related to "Clark Kent" or something... who knows.

In company of heroes you cant just win by building all tanks. You need to balance it with infantry and defensive weapons like ATs that destory tanks. When you are sending a couple of tanks out have a squad of infantry with them to handle any of the enemies infantry. Have two squads of infantry with the ATs to defend it from the AIs infantry. Also focus on getting to the AI's base, once you are able to do that, you could destory important buildings.

5. Lastly, of course there is the fact that I have seen a unit of troops from the CPU shoot up my HQ with standard rifles, but I sat there with 7 Jeeps shooting the HQ for a good ten minutes straight, while the health moved NONE at all. The Jeeps blew up the barracks with no effort, so they obviously can blow up buildings. Maybe I am just crazy to think a single .50cal on a Jeep is going to take down the CPU's HQ when a quad cannon half track can't even take down its foot soldiers. What was I thinking?

When you have infantry and tanks on the field, dont send them out there to die. You could have them retreat and they will come to base. Your infantry squad can level up making them stronger Make sure your infantry have BARs and sticky bombs

Anyways, I didn't know you could record actually through the game the skirmishes, but I know that now. I will go back and re-create all these scnenarios again and record it throught he game so their is no chance of someone saying it is too blury or don't know all the facts. I have played so many of these skirmishes now, to make sure I was not going insane seeing this stuff, that I know how to recreate it no problem. I have never seen a game so blantly "cheat".

The AI isnt cheating. You arent using the right strategy for Company of Heroes.

Well if you tell me where to upload this recording of the replay, then I will prove it is cheating. I did the same thing again with the Jeeps, and it did NOTHING to the buildings. What is amazing though, is I allowed the CPU's soldiers to shoot my buildings with its rifles (far less powerful then a .50 cal machine gun and there were only 5 troops) and guess what my building did?

Now I made that recording, and was in the process of proving another CPU cheating senario, when some act of god, I started winning. I did the EXACT same things I have done before, and for some reason the CPU didn't rush me hard this time. It gave me just enough time to crank out my buildings, a couple AT guns, a couple tanks, couple snipers, and take over about 75% of the resource points on my side of the map. Well I had chose to do the "1000 points" and I had two of the points and I just simply put tank traps around the center point, and then stuck a sniper hidden in the middle next to it. Then I put another sniper in the bushes over by the other point on my side of the map, and just basically defended my base. 1 hour and 50 minutes later I won. So I guess it is beatable, but it still seemed like it did something different this time, because it didn't rush me like it normally does. I recorded the win too if you want to watch part of it to see how I am screwing up on my strategy. I would actually greatly appriciate the critisism.

Wow... this game sounds really, really deep! Do I want to commit to something as deep as this? The CoH Gold Edition comes out in like a week and it includes both the original game and the expansion for $30. Should I go for it?

It has been out for awhile, but it is still a great game. I love it, although it is one of the most challenging games I have ever played. By no means is it a push over, it will make you work for the victory.

blinn, until you win a few matches online, you wouldnt have even scratched the surface of how great the game is. but to do that, annihilating expert should be simple for you. its good to see you have the patience for it because once you've learnt the game properly its, dare i say, pc gaming at its finest.

the game is very deep. I have been playing since jan 2010 and i still love it (more then starcraft)

i am able to beat the CPU on normal every time with every faction and can beat a hard CPU with any faction 70% of the time

however i cannot ever beat the brutal army it just seemed to know what i was doing and have more rescources.

the trick is to utalise the streanths of each faction and think ahead. so if you are playing against the Yanks get anti infantry prepared and get Grenadiers with Mg42s or pumas

if you are playing as the yanks then get mortars and anti tank out quickly to crush the Axis tanks

if you are palying PE get vehicles and rush the resources taking advantage of an early game advantage.

if you are palying as brits use their defences and mobile bases to ur advantage

this is a very difficult game i played on easy for the first 6 months and didn't play online until i had played for about 8 months. The game takes heaps of brain power to play and you leave feeling spent. I have never played a game that demands so much from the player it is the most intense expirience i have had with a video game

if you think skirmish is hard wait till you jump online it is beyond brutal some players are just fanatical

the trick is be swift learn what counters what and play to the factions streanths also dont spam for the sake of spam. Resorces are scarse so use them based on what your oponent might do next eg if ur oponent is going tanks rather then getting bigger tanks go for AT guns or better yet take their fuel points so you are the ones with the tanks.

taking the resorces is very important however anticipating your enemy is more important eg if your oponent is constantly putting preasure on you with infantry dont built tanks build more mgs or set up cover for ur infantry. or if ur oponent is hanging back and turtleing then be prepared for vehicles so have AT guns ready

it takes lots of practice you WILL get better if you persavere trust me it is one of the deepest and rewarding games i love it just give it time and dont go online untill you are confortable with the comuter.

hope this helps if you need any further clarifacation shoot me a message

always here to help

enjoy

There was one mission that made me want to pull my hair out. But the rest of the game feels just right. Honestly, I like the challenge. But of course, I can only handle so much frustration before I collapse!

same i played a skirmish about an hour ago where i dominated the map i owned 90% of it and had tanks and everything then the Computer started spamming AT guns and snipers i was about to punch a hole in the screen. But online is even more brutal makes me want to eat my arm
