Company of Heroes or World in Conflict?

So i played CoH's demo and thought it was awesome. But is WiC a better game? I noticed user reviews and the overall critic score in CoH is higher, but gamespot socred WiC higher. So which one is a better rts? Which one has better multiplayer and campaign? Is WiC harder to run than CoH? If I run CoH can i run opposing fronts? Is that expansion worth it? Thanks!MigElite

Company of heroes is easily a better game, you can get it and the expand set for $30. If you can run COH you can also run OF since they have the same system requirements. I am not 100% sure but I think CoH is harder to run than Wic.

Since you played the demo of CoH, you should download the demo of WiC and make your decision from there. In my personal opinion, I enjoy WiC more. I thought the single player campaign was awesome, good story and very engaging. You pretty much want to keep playing because you want to know what happens next etc.

I love the multiplayer, it's faster paced, mostly everyone works as a team. Maps are cool and well balanced except for the odd ones like X-MAS.

Can't really go wrong with either game tho. It pretty much comes down to, prefence of era weaponary of WW2 or Modern equipment. It also comes down to, base building or resource points.

I'd go with CoH. It's IMHO the best RTS on the market today by a good margin. WiC on the other hand I thought was quite good but rather brief and I think the gameplay tend to be a bit bland (just my oppinion, I know a lot of people feel diffrently).

Overall I'd say you could do far worse regardless of what game you go with. they are both great fun.

WiC is NOT a RTS. In fact, there's nothing "strategic" about WiC (except in multiplayer)

CoH is a great RTS experience all around, and for...just a much better game.

it has to be among the hardest to be considered as one of the best RTS. it's real-time and there's strategy; the most difficult genre.

1. Historical setting - this is something that I absolutely love. I have a really hard time getting into fictional settings.

2. Graphics - IMO, the graphics in CoH are waaaay better. They just seemed more detailed. WiC just seems like all of the other games that go 3D at the expense of detail. I would prefer a 2D game with amazing graphics (i.e. Age of Empires II), over a complete 3D game with not so great graphics (i.e. Empire Earth series). CoH has both: Full 3D and amazing detail.

There's probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment. #1 is definitely the main reason I choose CoH, though.

i agree CoH is detailed and that all the dust, bushes, trees, etc make it feel awesome, but it is NOT as good as WiC graphicslly is. It's an awesome game, but the graphics are obviously better and imo the SP campaign is better too, but not much better.

It looks very good but not as good overall as WiC.

I know its just my opinion, but WiC just seems more cartoony, whereas CoH seems more realistic. And CoH looks a heck of a lot better than that on my system (although in all honesty, I could just be fantasizing that they are better than they actually are :) )

WIC appeal to me more, I did find COH to be a amazing game as well but a tad bit overated by pc gamers imo.

Yeah I'm gonna have to go with WIC. I really hate WW1/2 games for one. And WIC just is just visually awesome. And the gameplay is also a blast. COH is nothing special its just your average RTS and the camera will bug the hell out of you.RawTechnique

both! i own both and i love them....world in conflict for all its explosions...boom,ba,boom,b.a..lol...and company of heroes for its world war 2 style gameplay...so if its possible..get both...

I am a big rts fan and iam always on the lokout for new games which infortunatly there arent alot:(,
If I had to vote for grachics (on full) i will have to say both are the same, because explosions and
stuff like thaton wicare way much better than coh's but when it comes to soldiers and tanks coh
for me personnally are much nicer. But I just give a 0.1more to wic for the massive multiplayer mode
although cohis just anothor massive game i enjoy as wic. I just love RTS :D :twisted:
