I definitely want to see them do something like a combined Afghanistan-Iraq campaign where you'll take on Saddam's armies and later the Taliban. That would be very cool because there hasn't been a RTS done in a modern setting with CoH-like graphics so this would be definitely something fresh.

they will never make a CoH sequel as the CoH acronym with a number after it is owned and licensced by city interactive for its three budget fps's code of honor: FF, CoH2 (conspiracy island) and finally CoH3: desperate measures.

I don't know about that, if that is a challenge then they can always just rename the series.

I don't know about that, if that is a challenge then they can always just rename the series.

basically they could never EVER refer to its acronymare put a digit after it in order to make it so but this would lead to some confusion over wether its a sequel or not.

basically this means that while it isnt impossible it would be very hard to go ahead and name a sequel without causing some legal actions to go down.

Hopefully Relic will stop making horrible rts and go back to its roots before they start working on a new CoH. Fat chance of that happening though.

Eastern Front. It has generally the biggest and most brutal battles of the war. Infact, its completely moronic that they haven't done it yet.

Air combat would be nice, although it would require a larger scale. Other than that, since ww2 rts games are not common it could stay in the same setting, but focus on the pacific and ostfront.

Well, if you went modern and played with Helicopters they'd be the same as tanks really.

However, aside from my above post, I'd like to just see more WW2 settings.

Dare I say I'd even like to see many different countries with different units like AoE? Maybe I'm just crazy.

A Vietnam RTS would be very boring. Only two factions and the Vietcong would just suck. basically you would win by throwing a ton of men at them until the U.S. left. No way you could make an RTS out of that.

Doing naval invasions in the Pacific War Theater might be cool. That part of the war is generally unexplored in gaming so it might be nice. The other WWII alternative would obviously be the Eastern Front. However, I've always wondered why no one has done an alternate scenario in the 60s or 70s between the Soviets and NATO. It'll be like World in Conflict, but in a time period that's pretty devoid of games.

I seriously doubt the legal grounds on which you can sue a company because its fanbase throws around acronyms that are identical to yours. Blizzard would have likely sued the crap out of SquareEnix for SupCom 2(another SC2)

A Vietnam RTS would be very boring. Only two factions and the Vietcong would just suck. basically you would win by throwing a ton of men at them until the U.S. left. No way you could make an RTS out of that.

It would be something like this yeah. The Vietcong would lose every tactical encounter with the enemies with the Viets taking substantially more casualties then the Americans do. The MP games would obviously be ridiculously one sided.

My opinion is that the route of a fictictous historical setting would be the better alternative to a modern warfare game. It would basically allow more flexible creativity then the other options and give us an excuse to pit the US against say..... China or Russia. Having it in Afghanistan or Iraq would suck really hard considering that a man can only take so much desert environment before they want something cool. Like lets say urban warfare in the streets of Britain or something.

I don't, I want mha next DoW 2 expansion :P after another 2 (at least) they can do whatever they like with CoH, no matter what it is I'll get it. They always make great games, but I don't know abut Space Marine yet, looks "hyper", but maybe it has a little substance.

I think they made it more mainstream and easier to play for people who don't have RTS experience... I was kinda sick of the whole "base building" thingy....and it was nice to use cover and special powers etc...

What do you mean by Patton's Africa campaign exactly? If i'm not mistaken by the time Patton and US forces arrived in Africa, Rommel and his Desert Foxes were being chased right across Africa by Monty and his British and commonwealth Desert Rats. On topic, it would be interesting to see an Eastern Front campaign.

CoH was developed great, but because it's the kind of "random", fun RTS it is, the multiplayer complete fails when it comes to it being competitive, and if you look at RTS sales, only RTSs with great multiplayer or TBSs for singleplayer sell a lot, no matter how good the sp in CoH is, it failed sales wise, the project funding has nothing to do with poor sales, Relic did their best, now if they'd release something like Homeworld 3 (which it was announced, kinda), that would sell.

I like the multiplayer but imo it's not even half the quality of the sp campaign, but it's fun, I like it way more than the standard RTS formula but apparently most RTS players are looking for competitive play and there isn't such a thing in CoH. I can't stand playing competitively :P for example I win a few games one after another in SC 2, then somebody destroys me, I'm a quitter when it comes to not going the way I want to :P, in games like CoH, DoW 2 even DoW 1(little less tho) you have fun even if you're losing.

To tell you the truth, so far in the SP campaign in SC2...I haven't had to worry too much about base building and resource gathering. I remember SC1 or Age of Empires where you had to keep an eye on resources, but in SC2 I just get them to start gathering and it never runs out... I am only in the early stages though...or maybe MP is different...

For the second time, Vietnam would suck. Only two faction, and the Vietcong would never win. Their war strategy was send as many soldiers at the U.S. until the U.S. pulled out. The game would be incredibly boring and everyone would just be the U.S. or they would lose. Vietnam is a stupid idea that would never work for an RTS.

Woah, calm down bro, no need to go all gungho here!

Was just an idea, sorry if it seems as if you will be making the next COH, and we just made it that much harder for you, because we mentioned vietnam! But it is best that we don't go into what actually was strategy, or what really happened before/during Vietnam, this is not the place, and Im sure you wouldn't like it too much! So just calm down.

I think it would be cool (although I prefer Modern Warfare). But yeah, the Vietcong would have abilities to blend in with the jungle etc etc

Yeah, 10,000 day war, some people tend to forget that the U.S didn't win that one! (a modern setting would be nice too, I am a little WWII'd out, it is an over-glorified war)

I agree, we've had a LOT of WW2 games (and LOTS of WW2 RTS games to boot), I want a change of scenery for goodness' sake... :P
