[QUOTE="SaintJimmmy"][QUOTE="Ninja_Dog"]World of Warcraft is the ultimate benchmark of skill.Swiftstrike5
i lol'd for sure I did too.The true test of skill is being able to beat/survive the enemy even when the playing field isn't level. That's why I enjoy games like Battlefield where you have to work with a squad to deal with massive amounts of grenade spam and those dirty, dirty jets.
I'd also suggest Company of Heroes.
oh i love playing BF2 in squads with friends... not much matches the satisfaction of playing entirely on foot and kicking the crap out of a team who rarely leave the protection of their tanks... for that reason i actually prefer the project reality mod, i find its much much easier to find people who really want to work together in that game with voice chat and kind ofa chain of command.
as for company of heroes, while i absolutely ADORE that game, i think a better RTS to measure skill by would be either starcraft or warcraft 3, simply due to the amount of unit and base management that needs to go into those games, whereas with CoH, the basebuilding isnt particularly deep and there isnt as much of a variety of units to mix up, but you're right, it still does require a lot of skill to play well.
when it comes to shooters its probably a case of quake 3 or the unreal games simply because that is all twitch skills and the guns are pinpoint accurate, not like CSS where noobs can often spray and luck-out with a headshot because the weapons have a cone of fire which is somewhat unpredictable.
i dont really know about fighting and sports games because i've never played them, but i cant imagine them being as complex and as challenging as any of the games mentioned above, but hey, like i said, i dont really know much on that matter...
