Hello, I know you probably get this question everyday but I recently bought a Samsung 37inch HDTV and would like to know if connecting my PC to it is simple a case of getting a VGA Cable with two Blue VGA connectors and connecting it to my PC or is there other issues to consider. I did read somewhere cancerning refresh rates and someway how it can damage your HDTV. Come someone clear that up!

And if it's not that simple, how is it done right?

Thanks a million for answering!

I've got a Samsung 37in LCD TV, and I have a laptop pretty much permanently attached to it. All you need are the blue-tipped VGA cables, and some sort of sound cable if you want to listen to your computer through your TV (or other sound system setup).

The only problem I've run into with my particular Samsung is that I can only view the computer in 4X3 mode, the 16X9 mode stretches the screen out horizontally. I'm sure it has something to do with my laptop resolution, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

Have you tried to change the resolution of your desktop to a widescreen resolution?

What do you mean by Sound cable? I will get a VGA cable but I'm not totally sure about sound. I guess I though my TV would magically have sound lol! I'm not sure what type of sound cable I'm looking for?
