The 930 is better and there is a very little difference in price between the two.

Not much difference, but the 930 is slightly better. I'd sacrifice a few CPU frequency for more money of course :P

The 930, it also has minor improvements so that it overclocks ever so slightly better compared to the 920.

That being said, the 920 has no problem going to 4 GHz with proper cooling.

I'm at 3.2 (speedstepped a bit higher) right now with temps topping somewhere in the 50's on air cooling and I could take it higher if I were so inclined.

So why would'nt? Well, I'm not sure I'm even bottlenecked at stock speeds.

I think 930 is part of the new line where it uses a different socket size, correct me if im wrong. So by that logic the 930 would be better. Idk i got the core i7 the week it came out havnt looked up much about it since then.

A $1 more for something newer, I would do it.

The 920 & 930 use the same 1366 socket. They both have the DO stepping as well, unless you got the 920 when it used the CO/C1 stepping when the i7's were first released. However, the 930 benefits from slightly higher multiplier and a more efficient turbo boost (similar to the i7 8xx line) than the 920. If I were to build a new system today I would go with the 930 simply because it is a little newer and there isn't much difference in the price between the two. Both are great overclockers. You will be more limited by your cooling and other hardware in your RIG to say one is any better than the other at overclocking.
