I would go Unreal Anthology. I already have all those games ( :P ) but the most bang for your buck will be found in any unreal server.
Also The 360 battlefield I chanced to play at my friends house, and it was okay. Pretty much the same as the pc version, but with teh crappy controller.
if you don't have css, that presumably means you don't own half life 2, right?
if that's the case, end of discussion - buy half life 2 right now and get css with it for free
if through some bizzare loophole you own or have otherwise played half life 2, i'd say get... well, i'd still say get CSS - i hated the single player unreals and i liked quake 3 a lot more than the original UT, and while 2k4 is probably a great game, it just felt wrong to me
counterstrike is the better option all round i'd say
as for bad company, calling it a decent substitute for battlefield 2 is like calling your right hand a decent substitute for jessica alba

ROFL. He was asking about the Battlefied 2: Modern Combat for 360, which was released shortly after Battlefield 2 on pc, not about Bad Company.
CS:S is cheap, that's the main sellin point atm.

Regarding Anthology, as much as I loved the whole package, the online community has died off a fair bit, if I were you, wait until UT2K7 comes out, as it may bring back the community some, as well as possibly introduce a new Unreal-packed collection/bump the price down.
