Greetings and salutations.

I'm interested in picking up CS Source, but I've heard that the game is INSANELY hard to get into and is not noob friendly at all. Friends have told me that I'd get frustrated with it unless I had an entire summer to get decent at it. I work about 10 hours a day, with school and stuff. Would I be wasting my money right now? I relax about 1/2 an hour each evening, 3-4 hours a day on weekends.

This post might sound weird, but thanks. :D

Not at all. In my personal experience, CSS is a game where nobody cares about anoybody else's scores. I constantly play in servers where I see players getting scores like 1-13, and I couldn't care less. I'm a full-time pharmacy student and I get about 2 hours off each night after classes and studying, I split it between this game, TF2 and StarCraft 2. If you can run TF2, I'd recommend that as it is a lot more casual than CSS and I personally find it to be much more fun, but both are great games in their own respect.

CS:S isn't that hard at all. I personally think it's the best online FPS shooter. I recommend it.

If you hate losing and dying alot till you are good at the game then no i dont reccomend it. Otherwise its one of the best fps games and no one will flame you or act inmature in most cases.

Yes it is hard to get into if I am playing.

My friend who was new at CSS("theycallmebob") has a score of 4-16, he is an aight gamer.

This screenshot was taken 2 days ago in just a regular match of CSS.

Quick buy CS before the TF2ers notice this thread.

They'll say comforting things like "casual", "noob friendly", "easy to get into" and "hats". It'll all sound very convincing but really they just want you to stay noob forever in a game that will never enhance your skills as an FPS player.

Stick with CS (30 mins a day or 300) and it will make you good at every other FPS game you choose to play.

Scout is a weapon of skill, I still despise dying by it. I can't recall if I've seen you, I usually only remember ppl who:

TALK IN MOAR CAPS

Havent put too much time into it, when i did it was fairly easy, it plays just like most valve games. By an hour or so in i got to being consistently in the top 3-5 per round. I dont know if the people i was playing against sucked or whatever but it didnt seem too hard.

To be honest, Source is not very difficult. Now if you want a difficult FPS, try Counter Strike 1.6 (that is if you don't mind outdated graphics). Playing 1.6 constantly actually made source much easier for me.

It takes a while to get used to, but it's worth it.

Remember: Aim for the Head. Almost always.
