same thing happened to me with an AMD 6400+ 3.2 ghz, no OC, and a zalman 9500. I think the big thing that made my temps rise is when i put in my video card, 8800 GTS 512mb, and when i finally closed my case the temps sky rocketed from about a 34 C to 40 C. goes up to 53 C while gaming, and over an extened period of time it actually heats up my room. I think the air flow in my case is bad, plus this is a 90nm processor so higher temps are expected. i just wonder how high my temps would be if i were using a stock heatsink.
Hey guys, i have a amd athlon x2 5600+, with a Zalman 9700 cooler. Before i put the Zalman on, the cpu was 50C with the stock cooler. So i put the zalman on everything went great. My temps idled 35c. WEEELL i overclock the cpu to 3.0Ghz from 2.8Ghz. It still stayed in the same range which i was happy about. Unfortunately a couple of days ago it started getting hot. I checked the bios and its idling at 43C! I dont know what to do. Any suggestions are appreciated, Thanks!kill4kicks
Same thing DL CoreTemp and see what that says. If the LOAD temp starts going into the 60C range you might have to re-seat your Heatsink.
As far as the E8400 , Dont trust the BIOS temps , its not supported yet. DL CoreTemp.debusentel:lol: i am using coretemp... What should i do :s

Hmm , what kind of Heat sink are you using? Also , what kind of MOBO do you have?
You might have to Re-seat your Heat sink pending on your answers though.
Stock and my mobo is msi 945GCM5 V2 Brainkiller05
Crap , I'm not familiar with the BIOS of that board. Generally in the Advanced BIOS you can make your HSF run at 100%. Look for something in that tab that says Enable Smart FAN mode and set it too disable. That should make your fan run faster and its safe.
Second thing to check is the placement. Is it on thier firm? or does it wobble a bit? If it wobbles you will have to Re-seat it. So check that first.
Oh , and is the chip OC'd?

well ive got the 4000 and it only idles at about 12
Wait what.........both of my rigs run at about 60C with Folding@Home utilizing 100% of both cores.X360PS3AMD05
Yeah thats a LOAD temp. A tad high but still safe.
