I got Q6600 and im running OCCT stress test and core temperatures are 60-55 degrees on stock speed. I got Noctua aftermarket cooler. Is it safe to overclock when I get these temperatures on stress test?

Whats the individual CPU temps for each core? Whats your ambient temp?

Taking an average of 55-60c on load with a stock Q6600, you are safe to OC.

I dont get how these people with aftermarket coolers are getting higher temps then just if they were using stock heatsinks(most likely not putting it on right). I know a few years back AMD stepuped their stock cpu coolers when they were making AM2 thier standard socket coming from socket 754,939. Im not sure how well Intel's stock coolers do. But all I got to say is that My 125W Athlon X2 6000+(~3Ghz) pumps out more heat than a C2D. And with its stock heatsink it idles 30C and maxes 48C.

You might want to check your heatsink install. I have a Noctua on a E8400 overclocked, I might see 42-43c under load.
