cpuz shows 1600mhz instead 2400???

Can someone tell me why program cpuz 1.405 shows me that i have 1600mhz instead of 2400???I have a intel quad q6600.Thanks

The Q6600 is 2.4Ghz stock right?

Well CPU-Z for me does this as well - I researched it and I believe it's because of a feature called Intel SpeedStep whereby on idle the clock speed is reduced to lower power consumption and/or produce less heat - I think that's what it is (correct me if wrong)
