...anyone seen it in action yet? I'm still at work but I'm excited to get home and try it out. If the thread is staggering, once I get home I will post benchmarks. Cheers.

Downloading it right now, should be done with the hi-res pack in 8 minutes and DX11 pack at 5 minutes. I might just go through the whole campaign again.

That's my plan, let me know what kind of frames you're getting!
Whats the deal with the hi-res textures, no 32-bit? that sucks! its cool we have a date for level edtior too, mid week! scorelucfonzy
Yea, can't wait for that. First thing I'll be doing is creating an epic Pinger battle. Battling the first Pinger in Crysis 2 was one of my best experiences from the game.

Yeah i saw via Mycrysis twitter feed that the level editor will hit on the 29th of this month, so thats like.. yeah 2 days
Edit:
Here's a link to the confirmation of level editor - Map Pack Editor
Also here's some comparison shots between DX9 and 11 - Link
I must say, that water looks amazing..
is it available through Steam yet?

If you're talking about the actual game, it got pulled from Steam. If you are talking about the patch...well I'm not sure but it should have auto-updated.

i was talking about the patch; I can still download my copy of Crysis 2 through steam, but I was just wondering that, as the product got pulled from Steam, if the patch is still autoupdated.
Ah well, downloading now...will see in two or three hours.

Ah, right. I read that you still get patches and you can still download/play, so I don't think we will have any issues!
Been playing again with everything set on ultra but motion blur disabled because I hate it. It's worth another playthrough and would have saved Crytek so much grief if they had just delayed the game a few months. Thank you again EA for your personal greed and lack of interest in your customers. Did Crytek learn their lesson and will there be a Crysis 3?
Ok I'm back after fooling around in the campaign. With everything turn on to ultra settings(highest settings), DX11 Enabled, and High-res Texture enable, with V-sync off, playing at 1400x900, I get around 20-30 frames according to Fraps. When I disable High-res texture and enable DX11 I get about the same results with about 3-5+ frames on some occasions. When I disable DX11 I get around 30-40. It seems like DX11 is the only heavy hitter to my frame rate and normally when I play this game before the patch I get 35-60 frames. Also my rig is this:
1GB 5770
Phenom II X4 B45 3.1Ghz
Window 7 64-bit
4GB RAM
[QUOTE="klusps"]How did you get it working ? i'm getting the same problem .So right now I'm having trouble installing the 1.9 patch. It saids that it couldn't find my crysis2.exe...
Edit: Never mind, got it working.:D
ultrapc
I uninstalled the whole game and then reinstall it. When you're re-installing it should just download and install the 1.9 patch. Also run it on admin just in case.

Thanks , it worked and i started the game but now i can hear sounds but i see a black screen only, going to try and reinstall again .Use alt-tab for double framerate lol
Not all assets look better, many are still pretty bad and look even worse when compared to the new and tessellated assets. The new lightning and particle effects are unbeliavable. Check out the night levels, it's shocking how good they look.
On my Q6600, GTX470 and 4 Gb RAM, all at stock speeds, I get around 40 fps at 1920 x 1080 with everything on maximum. I just have to alt-tab after the initial loading:P

I've always said the 5770 wasn't the best DX11 card. 20-30 fps with DX11 and everything on ultra sounds good though. It's not like you're getting 5 fps.
come on people..what's the verdict?lawlessxThe verdict is that you should download the 1.9 patch and pretend that the game just came out today. It might bump the review up a half point or so. Sadly it doesnt change the fact that the story is pretty boring and the A.I. is horrible.
I cant believe people dont have 64 bit os as standard now, especially as a pc gamer. Downloading now, looking forward to this can finially complete my hard mode playtru.
FInally installed the patches... Started the game up, FOV is tiny again! I used Wasdie's config tool before to change the fov, how do you change it manually? Gonna get back on and get a bit further into the game to really see how much these patches have helped. I think the lighting effects will be the most prominent. I don't have 64bit OS so I can't use the hi res texture pack :( the textures still look pixely as hell, and whilst the tessellation is quite nice, it seems to make the horrible textures more prominent.lucfonzy
Go to your root folder and manually create an autoexec.cfg file and place this one line in it...
"cl_fov = 80"
You can change that number to whatever you want. Crytek in all of their wisdom decided to force the auotexec.cfg file to have the spaces between the = sign. Don't use my program and delete any autoexec.cfg file you have made from it until I update the program. It will overwrite the in-game settings and only go to Extreme and not Ultra.

That's what I'm thinking too. If you plan on playing Crysis 2 on ultra settings then that means you have a powerful computer, why the hell would you use a 32 bit os?

Cheers, I guess I should know stuff like this. And I should probably have a 64bit OS.. but I don't :P Hopefully get a copy soon, I need to boost my ram up.I'm indifferent on this one. I have everything max settings, 1200p, Ultra. The game does look noticeably sharper and more crisp. You do notice finer details on surfaces, better reflection off of objects and surfaces, although you cannot see your own reflection in a water puddle. :P Let's just say, if Crysis 2 came shipped with DX11 and Hi-res Texture pack, it wouldn't have made much of a difference with me, if any at all. Not worth a second playthrough even with the patches.
Patch is fail, having the same problem that crysis1 had, full screen plays in 24p :| Only does 1080p in non full screen mode. Cant get it right after 5 years WTF, worked fine before the update. Sick of Messing around with pc games that are a hassle. Im sure there is a way to fix it, but I get sick of jacking with crap, just fn work. Also I can run the game dx11 maxxed at 40 fps at lowest on my gtx 580, but it got 100c at 70% fan, F that, thats to hot and I dont want to run my fan 100%. Total let down for me
Just got home from work, I am downloading now and will post screenies and frames...eta 45 minutes for the High Res pack =(
... installing the patch now via the autoupdater....
....taking a long time....
And: Success!
...installing Crysis 2 dx11 pack..... (previously downloaded)
...seems to have installed successfully...
...installing high rez texture pack..... (previously downloaded)
...it says upon launch "requires a 64 bit operating system"...
...intallation seems to have gone successfully.
...launching game....
1. Game launches successfully. 2. DX11 enabled by default. 3. Save points preserved. 4. Game takes noticeably longer to load. 5. I set all options to "very high" with high rez textures enabled. Did a quick look see. Some hit in frame rate. Not seeing any dramatic differences.

I don't remember having that problem with Crysis 1 at all.
I did, I play on a 52" 1080p tv, anyways I fixed it. It might be the scaling on my tv I dont know, but the only games it has ever done that on is crysis and now crysis 2, it was a common problem for people with nvidia cards, because I googled it trying to fix it and found a ton of people posting the same problem. Any way all is fixed now, game looks better but not as good as I was expecting.I'll just copy/paste my SW thread:
So I caved and postponed eating a little. Here's a bunch of crappy jpgs in their original size:
Please support .png Valve!! And improve your screenshot function, it sucks ;)
Autoexec:
g_skipIntro = 1
cl_fov = 74
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 74
i_mouse_accel = 0
i_mouse_accel_max = 100
i_mouse_smooth = 0
r_DrawNearFoV = 74
For the record, it V-syncs to steady 50 fps on my rig. Can't say how high the fps can go but I don't really care either, I want my V-Sync!
The game could do with some better AA imho.
Edit: Right click ---> "show" ;)
Getting around 30-45 fps, usually around 30 when major firefights going on with v-sync enabled. Takes 12-15 seconds to load a level on an ssd. Motion blue is a lot better, a lot of the effects have to be seen IRT but this is a good preview. =)
