Crysis 2 no DX11 patch confirmed.

If they would've put dx 11 in the day 0 version it would've meant we would of had to wait for the game longer than the console versions and everyone still would be whining and trolling about it....

Im glad they choosed this way, the Campaign was so much fun that im gonna play it again with the Patch when its out.

Crysis 2 is easily one of the best single player fps i've played this gen. Don't let the score on gamespot and the consolization cries fool you. It runs much better than crysis 1 (at least on my rig) and some scenes look just amazing (time square anyone?), eventhough its only Dx9.

yes times square looks awesome, crysis 2 looks great and plays great. its alot of fun both single and multiplayer and its only getting better.

I don't understand why people want dx11 so much.

Crysis2 already uses many advanced features in their DX 9. For example DOF and bokeh.

And runs really well also.. The only thing I wish is that they would fix is the stupid ai. As everything else about the game is very well done.

Yeah people are taking this way out of proportion. They said that the patch, that is rumored to have DX11 and come this week, was never confirmed. Not that DX11 is never coming.

Crysis2 is still a great game and if it gets a Dx11 patch like Shogun2 is getting in a few weeks then yes it would be even better. Still epic games though even without dx11 imo though :P

Crysis 2 is a drowngrade graphical wise from Crysis. Which came out years ago. That should of not happened in the first place. It's proof the game is consolized. And I wont be supporting them by buying the game.

I dont really care about the graphics much, but the choice of scenery is definetly bland. What i dont like is how the suit works now, and that using obects is quite ueseless now, but mostly how the speed works and how armor mode works...its all too much cod attack and hide now.

I really hope a mod comes out so that you can have the suit set up like the old one.

.. Bland environments? As opposed to rolling jungles of cloned trees? Acre after acre? Where the main use of speed was to run far distances.. And I am not quite sure what you mean with the hide and attack thing.. Because you did the exact same thing in Crysis 1 with hit and run tactics..

ok let me rephrase...not as fun. I loved using strength jumping over a car throwing a red barrel and shooting it as i come down. Strength doesnt make you jump very high anymore.

Armor mode you used to be able to regen energy. I used speed to run into people knock em down, and punch them. You hide to make your energy regen now because armor mode doesnt allow you to. So now, you go in armor mode take damage, then you need to hide after awhile. Its quite boring. Yes, you did hit and run with invis obviously.

As far as the bland environments go i mostly am refering to the fact everygame is based in a city with grey buildings. Crysis may have been repetetive, but it was not bland.

Why? Just because they they aren't coming out with a DX11 patch they never promised in the first place somehow means the game isn't fun and worth it for the people who purchased it?

It's a horrible console port...

Relax people wtf? The DX 11 patch is still coming. I think DX 11 is already in the game, they just need to unlock it.

This is for everyone who is still assuming that Crytek will be releasing patch that supports DX11. Apparently these claims were just rumors starting on some forums and held no validity whatsoever. Here is my source, anyone got anything offering conflicting information? Also, if they were releasing DX11 I think most of us would have read it on MyCrysis, Facebook or Twitter, or something alike. Not gathering that information from either of those sources, or even being able to find it directly stated from Crytek themselves via one of these sources was evidence enough for me that there was in fact, no DX11 support coming. None the less, I still enjoy the game and find it to be great. I just don't appreciate being lead to believe something about the game simply so I would commit to purchasing it. Had I known this, I might have waited

A little off topic, but will mods be an option like Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead? Or did they screw us in that regard as well?

DX11 is not a necessity. Crysis 2 already looks incredibly beautiful. I've already completed the game and it's the best single-player campaign I've played in years - even better than Bulletstorm's.

You guys do realize they're referring to the rumor that the patch was releasing yesterday? A proper DX11 patch is still very much on the way. Crytek tweeted about it two days ago.

Yes. Whoever is saying that is a moron. It takes screenshots that can be viewed in "full size," which is whatever resolution you're playing the game at. I never use Fraps anymore because it does such a great job capturing high-quality screenshots and makes it very easy to share with others (no need to upload to some random website, etc.).

What I AM annoyed about (not hate) is that a company as big as Crytek released a game created in DX9 and a "maybe" of DX11 patch later.

I will play Crysis 2 one way or the other, that's for sure... just want to make sure it's the final BEST product PC can have.

Doesn't bother or affect me one bit. The game by itself (I'm 2 1/2 hours in) is pretty fun, and since I only have a DX10 card in the first place, don't really care. I hope the the SP and MP live up to some kind of standard, that's all I expect. So far I haven't been let down.

Don't regret buying the game, still looks amazing.

Why are you people so hard for DX11. The game already has plenty of very good effects, such as DOF, Bokeh DOF. Incredible lighting and shadows. motion blur, and all that other good ****.

What do you think DX11 is going to do? You thinkTessellation is going to chage the wya the game looks, It won't. DX11 is not going to change a hell of a lot. The best you can hope for is some better performance. And maybe they release a high texture pack (which doesn't need DX11).

Damn right we're gonna b**** and complain if the game sucks, isn't what the company promised, shipped incompete, and theres more reasons that justify our complaints.

We aren't like console gamers who will just sit back and take whatever developers give them. Damnit we want quality games that push forward, not **** that takes a step back in almost every direction. If you say thats what the game is gonna be, we expect it to be so. When it doesn't deliver, we complain. Theres nothing wrong with that.
