Crysis=

One of the greatest fps' of all time. Overrated? No. Gaylo is. MW2 is a good fun game that provides it well and is easy to get into. I can understand why it sells well, it is a fun game no doubt, but no one can step to crysis in terms of gameplay and overall quality from the graphics to the gameplay.

I was so amazing by the demo during the ship segment when it ended. THe gameplay in this game is phenomenal and unique. And the part where youre exposed to the gravity alien world, then when you exit to find the whole world frozen. Cant wait for cryisis 2.

Haters fall back, anyone who says that this game is "Crap" is definately out of line. We all have our opinions but it definately isnt CRAP.

This game is definately up there with HL2, except HL will always be the greatest.

Yeah I agree crysis defiantly ranks high up there on the list of great fps. I Think the style of gameplay appealed to a certain " type of gamer so while alot of people liked it there are also people who didn't like it and its a shame cause it seems like crysis 2 is gonna try to appeal to that group and become less like the crysis i know and love :(

All they had to do was make the shooting mechanics tighter as in a bit more accurate/more dmg but keep the same large scale and unlinearity looks like there turning into gears of crysis now but i will reserve my final opinion for when the game comes out maybe crysis will suprise me and end up making a game thats appeals to both me and any haters.

YEp this new urban combat, dunno if it will work for crysis but regardless its a purchase for me. Also waiting for halflife 3, I will cry with joy.

Now I won't disagree that Crysis is a good game, but is there an actual reason why you had to bring up other games just to bash them other than feeling like you have to a slight d*****?

But really, what do those have to do with Crysis being good? And I am not saying this in an attempt to say those are better than Crysis. I won't even give my opinion on that. I just feel like what you said really had no reason to be said. It is like me saying Pizza is the best food ever, or is it overrated? Corn sucks, tacos are ok, but could have been better. None of those can step on Pizza though. WTF does that have to do with Pizza being amazing? Because those are bad it ends up making Pizza is better?!?!?!?!?!??!

EDIT: I also know that Halo was my last played game on the 360 (as shown by my gamercard), but I can legitmitaly say that it is because of an upcoming LAN (for PC and Consoles) and my brother and I have decided to do as many tournaments as possible, which so far consists of TF2 (PC) and Halo 3 on (360). I have not played Halo 3 in months, prior to yesterday. Believe me or don't believe me. Figured I would say it before I start getting crap to being a "Halo and MW2 lover" or something.

Crysis is more like the most challenging benchmark of all time. Its a cool game but i cant enjoy it with my friends, and have late night lans the way i can with halo and or counterstrike.

More of an overhyped benchmark with basic gameplay and acceptable story when I think back on it, but it was okay not worth the full price however. If crysis 2 contains the same "Ratatatatatatatatata" sound as Crysis I'll skip it tho'

No its not crap but for me mw2>crysis. Still a good game but i am a mw2 fan.:P

As for where i would put it on my top 10 fps list?

Lets just say that there are many fps i would put before crysis,such as half life, deus ex, system shock 2, quake 2, doom 2, doom 3, far cry, moh pacific assault and some others and i still consider arma 2, stalker and half life 2 to be better than crysis.

Therefore: Sorry i was not impressed with crysis in comparison with all those other fps. I dont know gameplay did not feel as genious as ss2 or deux ex. gunplay did not feel as awesome as quake 2 and story did not feel as good as moh pacific assault and levels did not feel as exotic as far cry and progression was not as genious as it was in half life.

Therefore, not impressed by this game, for me it scores as just graphics and does not feel as amazing as the gameS i mentioned before. Unlike you guys, it just did not quite cut it for me, it did not gave me that feeling that its so good.

Somehow i get the feeling that gamedevelopers nowadays have lost the ability to make great fps games :(

It really is a great game; -Strong modding and custom map community

-Diverse gameplay with suit powers

-Open environments

-Amazing graphics and physics

-Intelligent and dynamic AI (compared to the shooters of today for open environments? hell yea)

People are just butt hurt because Crysis scarred them for life with how much it raped our past systems....

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion...and in my honest opinion Crysis in not in top 5 best FPS games of all time...neither in top 5 best games of all time...ONLY in top 5 best graphics in a game category ofc on the number 1 spot.

So I recently installed Warhead to see if I missed something. I remember enjoying it a lot, and after hearing complaints about the aiming, shooting, and other ridiculous complaints, I wanted to see if I was wrong about it.
Turns out I am not. I still love the game. And it is way better than Modern Warfare 2. I can't even compare them. Like I said before, I couldn't bother to play through Modern Warfare 2. People say Crysis has a rubbish story, well, Modern Warfare 2's story could well have been written by a 5th grader. chandu83

Dude you have to admit that people have different tastes...Not everyone is into Sci-Fi,even if the game is great its only normal to not be liked by everyone.

As you see chandu i am not the onlyone who thinks the shooting mechanics could have better. Now that we clear that, i also got to say that i hope crysis 2 will appeal to both people who like/disliked the first game.

As for mw2 story? I doubt that such a young indivudial can understand politics and war, i doubt that such a young person can understand what is war. Just like Price said "If he lives then his truth will be written". On the other hand a 5 grader would think that t"here are good guys and bad guys" like we all did in that age and not having any idea about conflicts and politics...but i forgot, you haved finished the game so you cant clearly comment on the story.

But seriously you comparing mw2 a game that has good characters and plot twists and an inner meaning about war conflicts with a game that has generic characters and the entire story has 0% focus on the characters and only focuses only on a generic humans vs aliens in an island without any significant events during the game and lack of a meaningfull ending? I mean at the end both games have a simple story without any deepness but atleast mw2 created an atachment to the characters of soap and Price while Nomad and prophet are the most generic special focrces guys ever made, you will see them on every B movie with a war theme. Let alone that this whole nanosuit reminds me of superheros with their own powerfull suits such as iron man or power rangers, which are favored more by youngsters rather adults.

So i dont see why crysis story is more believable and mature but mw2 is like its written by a 5th grader. It just makes no sense to me. But i do agree that crysis most definetly does not have a crappy story, just simple without any noticable characters or plot twists. Still its a more upstanding story than many various action games out there.

I absolutely admit that. I am just openly speaking my mind about a game which I think is one of the best games ever. At least I am being on the fence here. I like the game, and I don't mind saying I do.

And if you listen to PC Gamer Podcast Episode # 218, you will know that I am not the only one who thinks Crysis has fantastic AI and that its a great game.

The thing I appreciate about Crysis is that it has a mix of sandbox/linear. You have a mission to accomplish but the map is quite big and because of that, you have different possible tactical entries into the base. Hopefully Crysis 2 will improve more on that. Graphics are good enough as it is, don't see why it has to be increased any further in Crysis 2. (Although they could learn from the modders that DID make Crysis look better than the vanilla version )

I mean i just pointed out that i am not the only one who has that issue and even someone who likes the game admits that, i am suprised that you dont see anything and you call it perfect. But anyway my point is that you did not take my complains seriously, yet there are other people who have them. So i guess that makes them valid enough without needing to proceed into a further discussion/explanation. i just wanted to get that off my mind.dakan45

No its not crap but for me mw2>crysis. Still a good game but i am a mw2 fan.:P

Agreed. I've played most every major FPS worth playing in the last 10 years, and in my opinion Crysis is easily in the top 10 all around best.

To me Crysis is all about feeling an immersion into the game world. The stunning graphics pull you in, and it really feels like you're storming through the jungle. The suit gives me the feeling of being an unstoppable man killing machine hellbent on destroying everything North Korean. The gunplay feels just right; down to the range of the guns, accuracy, rate of fire, and sound they are all unique and awesome.

In what other game can you speed boost off of a cliff to fly a 100ft through the air, then smash through the roof of a building to machine-gun the helpless soldiers inside. Punching a hole through the wall with super strength you speed out of the building into a group of enemys just outside sending them flying though the air. After which you grab the nearest man and smash his body into the nearest rock, build, or tree. Quickly spinning around you fire a rocket into an approaching truck filled with North Korean soldiers sending truck parts and men flying. The firefight continues for a few more breif seconds and then you make your escape. You super speed dash straight off a cliff free falling through the air you land into the river blow. The suit takes the impact and you're fine. You're enemy's desperately search for what as caused all this destruction only to find nothing.

Yeah, this game is totally awesome. I've seen a ton of people say that it sucks, but I think they're just doing it wrong. They're just getting though the level and compeleting the mission, little do they know the real objective of Crysis is to be a badass. If you just think about how you're going to attack and plan it out to be cool as possible this game really is second to none.

The mods are fantastic too.

lol most PC gamers just forget Farcry everytime when they used the words "One of the greatest fps" and they never forget crysis imo Farcry was the best crytek work so far.badtaker
