Oh man, I just got Crysis Warhead for $15! The first one is also $15. The maximum edition is also selling for 25% off. Good deal if you don't already know.

yah id be on it if..
1 i had the money
2 a game named mw2 didnt just come out
im sure they will run the deal again. if not oh well
If you're someone who doesn't have these games yet, just get them. Really entertaining and challenging gameplay. In fact, talking about it kinda makes me want to do another run-through.
My friend is letting me borrow the first one. If I only buy Warhead will I be content with just owning that, or will I want/need the first one for online stuff? $15 sounds good, but I should probably go with the ultimate edition?
I really really want to buy this but the fine print on steam stopped me in my tracks
**3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™ 5 machine activation limit
:( Im gonna have to pass this one up

Crysis Wars is the multiplayer game and it comes with Warhead. You'll be content playing through the original once and then owning Warhead.
It already has a revoke tool. Easy to use and you'll get your activation back in seconds. As much as I'd like to play the game I won't be buying it!
3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™ 5 machine activation limit. :x

If I only buy one of the games, which one would everyone recommend? Crysis sounds like it has more content for the money, although I gather it's a bit stricter on system requirements.DJ_LaeYou hit it right on the nose. It's a much bigger, longer game. Crysis Warhead is really just an expansion. But the original Crysis was not as well optimized and is a lot tougher on the system requirements.
Nice 1! I don't buy any games on Steam that have DRM of any kind. I don't really have to be the one to tell you that all games on Steam have DRM, do I?[QUOTE="aqualung857"]

Tbh I'd say to those with medium end rigs, just go for crysis warhead, playing crysis original at low fps (when trying to run at high settings) just aint that fun. Gameplay is sacrificed. Warhead optimisation is incredible.polarwrath11Don't know what to say about that...patched up, Crysis performs better than Warhead, at a higher resolution. (Crysis 1680x1050, 2xAA, same settings as Warhead 1440x900, no AA).
P.S Revoke tool = unlimited installs
Isn't a five machine limit quite good? Thats 5 PCs we're talking, or 5 reformats of the hard drive.polarwrath11I feel that any limit at all is unfair. Five machine limit usually means "5 download limit." Which means you're essentially renting the game, and after 5 times, you no longer own it. Like the whole Spore DRM BS. Unless it's 5 simultaneous PCs limit, like iTunes, then that's not so bad. This is why I like Steam's DRM so much. The only limit is you have to be signed in to your account to play it to prove that it's yours. No limits to installs.

Hope you're not refrerring to the official patches, because for me, they did nothing. I have doubts about what you just said, unless you're referring to user created patches.
Nope, official patches and absolutely no mod or ToD. Maxed out with 2xAA at 1680x1050 it never went under 22 frames on the snow levels or 28 on normal levels, average was 34 on DX 10, now Warhead, at 1440x900, no AA, maxed out on ice levels it can go to even 18 frames, normal levels 25-27 and average was around 30.
Warhead ran better than Crysis, but after I patched Crysis because I ran it without patches, performance was better than Warhead.
@DJ_Lae You could expect another 2 or 3 frames and if it works as great as it did for me you might get up to 6 or 7.
Yes, Crysis does not have limited installs.ok well i looked it up
but it seems there is only one for warhead?? is this true???????

can someone please explain?!
steam says that crysis and crysis warhead have drm
but they only make a revoke tool for warhead...?

The only limit is you have to be signed in to your account to play it to prove that it's yours. No limits to installs. It's 5 simultaneous PC's. You can uninstall it and reinstall it on those first 5 machines as often as you want as long as you don't change the hardware too much. If you run out of activations, you send them an e-mail and they get back to you that day saying 'ok, you're good to go.' It's the same thing that Spore had. Also, yeah, it's simultaneous - it doesn't care if you have it installed on 2-3 PC's at once, and doesn't care if you're -running- it on all 5 PC's at the same time. Steam won't let you do that though, so it's kind of moot here.
[QUOTE="aqualung857"]Yes, Crysis does not have limited installs. also iirc crysis disc version has securom, but requires disc in drive and has no limited installations - crysis steam version has securom w/ limited installs, same as crysis warhead.ok well i looked it up

Both are at 17,97 € in EA Store, and the Maximun Edition is at 27 € in Play.com. The main problem with a Steam purchase is that the game is linked to Steam in order to be played, but at the same time, the mp is still linked to Gamespy service, so at the end you're tied to more than a single platform. I known for a friend of mine that the Quake Wars experience in Steam -I have the retail version- is not as good because occasional falls from the Steam support.
About the games, Crysis is better option if you want sp and Warhead if you want mp (Crysis Wars). But Maximum Edition is the better trade for the value.
can anyone please answer my question?! im dying for an answer
does the revoke tool work for the original crysis, i can only find one for warhead!?
Huh... it doesn't work on Crysis, and Google's telling me EA's universal one doesn't recognize the Steam version of Crysis. No idea wtf is going on there.can anyone please answer my question?! im dying for an answer
