I play Crysis on Vista x64 and when I upgraded from 2gb of ram to 4gb I was able to bump the texture quality up to very high. The difference between high and very high is a lot more pronounced than I thought it would me; I've never seen any game come even close to these graphics.

I just finished playing Mass Effect on 360, and to be honest the chars in that looked more lifelike than Crysis, esp the faces. The korean soliders looked terrible. What blew me away with Crysis though was the freedom it gives you, all the wall smashing and jumping through roofes and stuff. I played COD4 after crysis, I took the game back after it prevented me from jumping over a 2 foot high picket fence (and the bit where I threw a grenade at an arab behding a barrell of oil, and the barrel was just stuck to the ground...lol)

WHAT?

Crysis is the best graphics at the moment and because of the very high setting that is crippling all our pc's it will continue to be the best looking game for a while yet.

The pictures that they release aren't real time and usually aren't with most games but even so the graphics are still great anyway so stop your wining

You can't just simply enable the game to run at truly full settings. It could blow up your computer literally.

I ran Crysis at max detail on my computer. (Max detail for retail version without any console commands) It ran at like 10-20 FPS max. It looked incredible but was really unplayable. Once the action started it would lag.

I got a quad core, 8800 gts 640mb, an 3GB of ram and vista as well.

I agree, the graphics do look worse, however they always work their magic on the videos and screenshots just to increase the hype, however I still think the graphics are very good, and with some modding they are even better, although not as good as advertised, in my opinion, they were still good enough.

Trailers aren't always real-time gameplay. Of course Crytek would use the beefiest system to advertise their game, the game was obviously a devious plot for nvidia to push the sales of graphics cards and intel to make people buy processors. Notice that RAM companies weren't in on the act and RAM doesn't affect crysis performance at all. hmmm...

Regardless the game wasn't designed for retail profit on the product itself.
