Crysis is overated!

So i kept hearing crysis crysis and i played the game and judging of whats promised and what iv seen i was kinda dissapointed so with )% hate:

OK I DONT HATE CRYSIS!!! But why EA doesnt ever i mean EVER polish their games a little bit! (am i asking too much? if you make all this just a little polish)

Now quite owmestly graphs didnt attract me am more fan or atistic and cool post proccesing decals and lighting than detail, also the jungle in far cry was far better fo me, i dont really like the realism thing i thing tropical islands need to be like those holydays cards and not looking like crysis also the maps were bad compared to far cry and kinda cut down to be smaller overally that was a dissapoitment to me because

this wide area doesnt exist, NO wide jungles hope far cry 2 has them!

BECASUE JUNGLE AINT PRETTY THE WATER ISNT AND GAME IS FULL OF BORING JNUGLES (Far cry had better areas, also inside areas look cool should be used more like the labs in far cry!)

The sound was ok to me voices too guns could have sounded better! however i dont really like the power rangers MAXXIMUM SPEED sounds!

physics, YES IT GREAT you can blow up a hut, great more stuff to be carefull, you can also cut down trees, almost some of tthem stay in the air (overatd physiques) and if you set them on low you crash on barracades and vehicle explodes.... anyway the thing is that crysis doesnt EVEN HAVE RAGDOLL A TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS USED IN FAR CRY 4 YEARS AGO! if you shoot someone he wont feel a thing, super mega armor they dont fall down they usually dance like bots and they dont bleed no blood on them no dissmemberment like soldier of fortune and in cod4 if you shoot someone to the leg he will fall down, NOW THATSREVOLUTIONARY, BUT in crysis you dumbly shoot huindrends of ammo or one on the head, right very realistic! if you shoot a corpse it wont move no rag dolll!

gameplay despite the bugs the crazy i move all the time like and idiot shoot you hit you and never miss from 2000km behind trees and tun your screen red all the time while losing most of you hit points and shoot him 1000 times , which looks dumb to me to hit someone more that 4 times expect the bot ai and that the fact that they dont take cover because anything its decorative and breaks! well zzz fake crappy but chalenging ai....CHALENGING???? hey you am THE ENEMY SHOOT ME FORGOD SHAKE ! Needlles to speak that once the fell off a bridge or that a tank was shooting me from 10000 km in the sky or that the damn gunner of a boat was trying to turn his machinegun behind me and not simply leave the machinegun( WHY THE MACHINEGUNS IS SO GARABGE ANYWAY) to kill me? ohhh simple because you cant stay on the boat if you get out youll fall in the water,( at this point this weapon aiming thing that was firsty a call od futy copy id like to say that id like a san andreas copy of boat , get on and then in ...system! freedom they say.. go everywhere do antyhing, so tried to to get on that boat....hhhzzzz nah it didnt work, ill tell you what stop comapring with cod4 and play frontlines fuel of war far more freedom and bigger areas!! the ai and physiques often break and i think those are crap of a 9.5 rated game!

The suit is crap, one shot and armor is almost out(nice halo armor), also koreans dont feel anything when shoted but you get a headache and the unarmored koreans are tougher than you, speed is too short id like to run half second more plz and cloack is running down very fast ,its a DAMN beta version and it doesnt quite look cool or camoufaldged, eg the predator movies... also if you shoot its out if you meele its out (no kidding and how you pick up stuff or run and it doesnt say bye on you) but if you get shoted, you still invisible! bah SUIT IS CRAP BURN IT! (ONE SHOT AND ARMOR IS GONE, THATS CHALLENGING? OR CHEATING?

story is good but is a copy, game didnt offer anything its not long enough and the patch 1.2 increase weapon damage and decreases the damage you take to balance gameplay and fixes bugs like the no drain energy from cloak while climbing a ladder...AM I PLAYING A BETA VERSION,

also for those who havent being convinced yet.... if you are in a vehicle and somebody shoots you with A PISTOL!!! you get a red screen a ahahahah and a headache also blood spllater everywhere DID THEY JSUT PENATRATE MY SHIELD AND ARMOR WITH A PISTOL? i should get a falsh indicating that i got shield ON!!! but if you shoot them they dont feel CRAP, yeah cuz they wearing armor (or not) AND WHAT AM WEARING A HALLOWEEN SUIT!!!

Also the nano koreans supose to use speed to avoid shots or cloak to suprice you however they jsut stand still like retards, while their cheap knock offs suits use both armor and stregth modes at the same tiame AND are tougher than mine, nice ai....FOR CRYST-SHAKE!

So i got to ask couldnt tun BETTER you know BETTER i mean i LIKED THE FACT THAT I COULD CHANGE THE ARMOR DEFENSE AND CLOAK ENERGY ASBROB IN CFG FILES also thanks to the patch 1.2 that increased the damage that the character caused to the enemy but why didnt they spent a little more days to fix those problems and bugs i did it in 1 hour why dont they you know gvie it a little attention why they didnt poslih it am i asking that much?

A litte bigger areas, easy just open the editor,

more balanced armor cloak and enemy damage , jsut apply the patches and change the cfg files,

a little less accurate ai to look more human or how about the nano koreans sneak up on you and grab stuff and throw or move really fast to dodge seriously a little better wouldnt hurt for GRAPHS SHAKE apart from the graphics a little more attention wouldnt hurt! What you think?

Like you say, I think the game is just lacking some polish. I've only had about 20 minutes with the game, so I am hardly the expert, but I was playing on high and the graphics are fine...but just a bit dull. I might just have been on a bad part of the game that doesn't really show the graphics off very well?

There is probably a part of the story that I have missed, but I didn't like how it took a couple of mags to kills someone...and the AI didn't seem realistic. They ran away from grenades...thats about it.

Like I say though, i've not really had enough time with the game, so my comments might not be fair at all.

I think Crysis is highly overrated and find the pre- and post-release worshiping a bit disturbing, BUT, it does have the best water effect of all games. however, you can only get to know how good the water looks if everything is set on very high, and playing the game at 1600x1200 and up.

The setting aswell was boring, I mean, we have seen the urban Cryengine demonstrations ... and I would abolsutely love to see an Alien attack based in a destructable city, much like Half-Life for example?

But a boring jungle? with wooden huts.... excellent graphics, but the most bland location choice possible.

Yea ok, we were all stunned by jungle graphics, but the concept in play was bland, I found that Console example with all the abllons floating down the street more entertaining than walking though a damn forest on crysis!

Crysis was great fun for a while, but your comparisons with FarCry are interesting. The game is so similar to FarCry that it's difficult to believe this wasn't originally intended as a straight sequel. As it stands, Crysis, to my mind, seemed closer to an engine demo than a finished game.

Whenever I think back to my favourite in-game moments I seem to be remembering bits of FarCry, which is weird as while actually playing Crysis I could have sworn I preferred Crysis. Now I get the feeling that FarCry 2 is the game I was really waiting for.

I played Far Cry today for a few hours, because I recently read The Island Of Dr. Moreau... Indeed, the levels are much more spectacular, and the interiors are awesome.

But the gameplay balance is schizophrenic, the save system is crap and the enemy placement is oligophrenic.

Crysis is a lot more FUN to play.

You bash Crysis everytime you came here, and judging by your posts you either haven't played it or you're just another linear shooter advocate who's too blind to admit that Crysis' wealth of gameplay elements trumps many other shooters in the market, including your super overrated Bioshock.

I honestly didn't think crysis was too bad until it changed from shooting people to shooting monsters. The only thing I really hate is the fact the my computer which is pretty damn good (phenom 9600 overclocked to 3.0ghz, 8gb ram, two 3870 X2's) can't handle the dx10 version with max settings. Not to mention the 64-bit version won't even start. What kind of computer CAN run everything on the highest setting in dx10?progrocknic

what resoultion did you try to max out at? E8400 + 8800GTX at 1600x1200 and under would do the job.

I do have respect for people have are using English as a second language. I'm not that good at French, but I don't say "J'aI NE parlerr PAs fRancais!Q". This person clearly just didn't make an effort towards making his post legible. He mispells words he already has used correctly previously, and mispells words he correctly uses later. Also - lot of grammar is universal (aside from the likes of Chinese) such as capitalizations and abbreviations. I felt that the amazing graphics were the only thing that saved it from being just another mediocre shooter. The suits power runs out way too fast, the game is very linear, and the vehicles are crap.

About BIG WIDE LEVELS AND GRAPHICS yes crysis has the best graphics and better lighting than gears of war but the levels arr not big however thinks that probably has not played far cry stalker oblivion or at least look at far cry 2 and how wode it is or crysis warhead check warhead right now thats a lovely big exotic FROZEN area so YES crysis maps do suck! 2. Crysis had to be scaled back graphically. The engine can indead look as good as it did in the first shots, but it is not capable on current systems.

3. So you ran into a glitch with an enemy? It happens. The AI in Crysis is brilliant.

4. Crysis' strength is the gameplay; it is the best to grace the FPS genre in years. The visuals are icing on the cake.

As for Crysis, it's an awesome game. There were plenty of areas and I think if it was filled with more different areas, it would have killed it. You dont want to overdo certain things. They did a great job and I'll be looking forward to Crysis Warhead which will cover more areas.

Fist i aree with the oneabove me eg in mercenaries 2 they said th bad points and everyone started whinning the point is you dont wanna hear that but as much as crappy a game be if you like it then that does it but for me in crysis there were no good pints apart form blockbuster view, i didnt like the areas the graphics were close to reallity but not exotic like far cry the guns comabt and ai didnt seem real so also the armor wasnt something like halo so i didnt ahve good points apart form music story and those screenshots, that i hoped it will be !

hmm all weapons sucked the main modification was addd lasersight if you feel more accuarate and silencer doesnt weaker the weapons so add it also iron sight? add a tactical sight and becasue it aint pefect youll switch it with short scope from time to time as for unbalanced gameplay just add the sleeping darts and everyone is sleeping if you shoot him but still take plenty of hits also being unable to pick his weapon and corpse and the grenades are very innacurate and weak so no use and the onyl reason you use sniper scope is cuz you get a hard time finding ammo and using the sniper rilfe, by the way no silencer, the rocket launcher got to be fired all 3 rockets to pick another and if you cant find a rocket laucher to take a tank down...well i prefer got a relaod rocket laucher like halo, all weapons suck ,

so all those generic stuff guess what almost all new action games or fps of the new games apart from, legendary cod5 and gears of war 2 or resistance will be wide, far cry 2 fallout 3 red faction g and all the rest like stalker so? is cod5 gonna be pawned? i dont care about that, bioshock rocked for me it never bug up and it was unique however not a guns and shoot game thats why people might not like it !

so? the point is not if crysis sucks or if its better for not be generic but the quality, check mercaneries 2 got the same stuff as crysis and problems but it got a 5.0 why becasue of the graphics, it even ahs more freedom like jsut cause, but this is not a fps,, its gta style so will far cry 2 will be too? in all this its like comparing quake 4 and bioshock or oblivion plz my point is apart from the graphics the game doesnt worth a 9.5 an 8+ yes 8.5 9.2 at the most but ofcourse games get 10 nowadays while outher stick to 5, and 6! the question is thanks to these info that they didnt include in their review and but they did in mercenaries 2 why arethe reviw paid? os i got to say yes i was dissapinted comapered to whats promissed and as i see many outhers did too thats what i wanted to know ofcoure the most gave it 10 but not everyone is awesome right, the few are important they make changes and sfuff not the masses so i wanted to know if am the only one NO now everything else about generic fps you post is crap all new games will be much more than crysis so evryone is happy!
