Why is crysis so hard on normal difficulty? I 'm trying to follow an objective and there's so many enemies and mine fields surrounding this thing :O totally was not expecting this from the game. I'm right at the beggining. Even the invisibility cloak doesn't hide me from enemies!?

You need to practice switching suit modes on short notice. Losing health? Maximum Speed. Attempting to tank a bunch of enemies? Maximum Armor. Invisibility won't help if you turn invisible in front of them. Take cover from the enemies, THEN switch to Cloak mode, and you should be fine.

with cloak you can move from cover to cover, getting closer to the enemy or running away from them. for the beginners, if you find an area full of enemies, use speed to run away from them, and when you find a cover in a distance, use cloak. then go from there, creeping in to handle them separately.

go for the head shots, it'll kill those koreans very quickly.

Ok - is it totally normal to take 10 minutes infiltrating one base then? Also does crysis like a high clock speed on the CPU - I have a 2.5GHz dual core? What will performance be like if I overclock to 3.6GHz?

yeah, but this game particularly important; before getting shotgun, for a beginner, it'll take too many bullets - time- to pull down a korean with body shots.

That's strange, I found the game very easy even on Delta difficulty. Maybe it's because I'm used to playing stealthly.

Probably need more patience - only started playing today. Just a little frustrated that I have to keep reloading from the last checkpoint. When you save manually does the game load ffrom exactly the same place?

Crysis loves CPU speed, thought I don't think just a boost in MHz will get the job done. Besides, I think you'd have a bit of trouble getting that chip up to that speed without a bigger PSU and some serious after-market cooling. Many powerful quad cores are available at fairly modest prices these days; you might want to consider shopping around if you can. And yes, 10 minutes is normal for infiltrating a base. That could even be considered quick. You have to be very cerebral when playing this game; play hide and seek with the enemy, use your environment, and plan things out carefully. My advise is to act exactly how you would were you in the situation in real life. Assume that the enemy A.I. will react like real people would. The game will cease to be difficult and will become fun and challenging.

Cloak is your friend. If enemies know where you are when you're cloaked, you're not doing it right.

- Make sure nobody can see you before you cloak. Then go into cloak mode, move towards cover before your power runs out and switch out of cloak mode. Wait until the power recharges, cloak again, and move towards next area of cover. Repeat until you're close enough to kill.

- When going in for the kill, approach an enemy carefully, stop and aim for the head. Then decloack, fire, and then cloak again immediately and find somewhere to hide to recharge your suit's power. By the time anyone realises someone's been killed, you'll have disappeared and be getting ready for your next move.

- Do not open fire when you're cloaked. Always switch to armour mode first. This will keep any power you have left in your suit. Then when you kill someone, you still have power in your suit to go back into cloak mode. Firing while cloaked will reduce your power to zero, leaving you with no armour and no way of recloaking.

- Hide in buildings or in the trees and take the time to analyze your surroundings. Get your binoculars out and scan the area for enemies. This will tag them and mark them on your map, so you can track where they are.

Trust me, once you work out how to use the nanosuit, everything just falls into place and it'll get much easier. Without the suit, you don't stand a chance.

Its definitely not a run of the mill shooter. If you play it like a console FPS, you will get destroyed easily. Take it slow, and plan your attacks.

Also beware that, for odd reason, koreans take almost no damage from a silenced weapon at range (unless it's a headshot). You can put an entire clip into one of their chests and it won't do anything if you have a silencer equipped, which is really, really stupid. They'll only take 4 or 5 shots with no silencer.

Crysis has a sort of sandbox feel to the world. Even though there is a storyline and the game is generally linear, deciding "how" you want to progress is up to you. I think taking 10 minutes to slowly take out a base is not only viable, but in someways more fun than just running in guns blazing. I used to keep reloading certain parts of the game just to try things out. Want to take that truck and cannonball in running over everyone? Go ahead. Want to go in Mission impossible style and hit them with silenced pistols. Go ahead. Its your game.

I thought crysis was easy...i guess you just need to figure out how to utilize your nano suit in a more efficient way. After you have done that beating it on delta is not particulary hard.

Honestly, you just need to learn how to cloak, hide in a further spot, uncloak, and repeat. Delta is easily beatable.

I absolutely love this game, it feels like Deus Ex without the skill progression. I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying that, but I haven't this much freedom in an FPS since Deus Ex. I'm actually itching to try out Far Cry 1 and 2.

Here you go, change these settings under the Config folder of crysis to the diff_easy,normal,hard or bauer/delta what ever difficulty your playing. And you will have almost unlimited suit power for strengh&speed, staying clocked for like 3 minutes, 3x the health and armor. Its not god mode,makes it more fun and you can still die but takes alot more to do it. -- Player Health/Energy/Suit g_suitCloakEnergyDrainAdjuster = 0 g_suitRecoilEnergyCost = 0 g_suitSpeedEnergyConsumption = 0 g_suitSpeedMult = 1.95 g_suitArmorHealthValue = 5000.0 g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTime = 0 g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTimeMoving = .1 g_playerSuitHealthRegenTime = 0 g_playerSuitHealthRegenTimeMoving = .1 g_playerSuitHealthRegenDelay = .01 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmor = 0 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmorMoving = .1 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTime = 0 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeDelay = .1 g_playerHealthValue = 1500.0

Yes, it should take you 10 minutes minimum.

This isnt Quake...you dont run in guns blazing.

Also, the suit doesnt make you a superhuman. It just provides you with tools that need to be used accordingly.

Crysis is by far one of the most strategic non-squad based shooters out there. Use your binoculars, scout entry and exit routes, and take your time.

Stalk your prey in cloak, go prone in bushes to let it recharge, then stalk some more. Use your silencer. Do hit and run strikes in speed mode; run up, blast one guy of a five man patrol, run away, cloak, switch position, strike again.

Eventually you will find some tactic that fits your style.

yes its hard and unfair.... weapons are very innacurate even in arma 2 are very accurate, there are few good weapons in the game, all suit functions, speed, armor ,cloak stregth are weak and innefactive, the korean soldiers move and react as reallistic as unreal tournament bots on godlike and the enemies that use nanosuits are almost invicible even after you unload rockets and greandes on them....

Very frustrtating unfair and hard game, never liked it and i always dont understand people in this forum who say its too easy, honestly i think stalker and far cry are far easier games...

Why is crysis so hard on normal difficulty? I 'm trying to follow an objective and there's so many enemies and mine fields surrounding this thing :O totally was not expecting this from the game. I'm right at the beggining. Even the invisibility cloak doesn't hide me from enemies!?

I breezed through Crysis on Delta. You want a hard game try Far Cry on the hardest setting. That was a hard game. Crytek cranked down the diffulty for Crysis.

Hmm more like having more or less the same difficulity without much diffirence in the settings, easy =normal to me in crysis i cant really see much diffirence compared with other games like eg far cry.

[QUOTE="dakan45"][QUOTE="04dcarraher"]Here you go, change these settings under the Config folder of crysis to the diff_easy,normal,hard or bauer/delta what ever difficulty your playing. And you will have almost unlimited suit power for strengh&speed, staying clocked for like 3 minutes, 3x the health and armor. Its not god mode,makes it more fun and you can still die but takes alot more to do it. -- Player Health/Energy/Suit g_suitCloakEnergyDrainAdjuster = 0 g_suitRecoilEnergyCost = 0 g_suitSpeedEnergyConsumption = 0 g_suitSpeedMult = 1.95 g_suitArmorHealthValue = 5000.0 g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTime = 0 g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTimeMoving = .1 g_playerSuitHealthRegenTime = 0 g_playerSuitHealthRegenTimeMoving = .1 g_playerSuitHealthRegenDelay = .01 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmor = 0 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmorMoving = .1 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTime = 0 g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeDelay = .1 g_playerHealthValue = 1500.004dcarraher
yeah but i think those apply for the nanosuit enemies and allies too... they did some changes in warhead and both player and ai take more hits... got anything for accuracy?

Its meant for the first Crysis and it doesnot change the enemies abilities at all.

Really? i tried changing those and the enemy nanosuit soldiers also took more damage just like my player, what exactly do i change to being able to survive more hits ?

Just change the armor and health numbers. And you know what now I remember I think the korean suit gets altered too lol, just go to strength mode and punch them 3-4 times that should kill them :)

The active camo is just that, active camo not invisibility, all it does is increase your regular camo so you sitll need to hide behind stuff and creep. When you've played through it a few times you'll get better at it, what you really need to be able to do is switch quickly between modes and weapons, you have to be flexible. It's all about flexibility and the ability to plan and then execute your plan quickly and efficiently.

yes its hard and unfair.... weapons are very innacurate even in arma 2 are very accurate, there are few good weapons in the game, all suit functions, speed, armor ,cloak stregth are weak and innefactive, the korean soldiers move and react as reallistic as unreal tournament bots on godlike and the enemies that use nanosuits are almost invicible even after you unload rockets and greandes on them....

I found the weapons very acurate, nothing like CoD's stupidly accurate weapons but i could still score a headshot with an SMG from 100 yards or so. The suit functions arn't supposed to make you into a run and gun superman "40k space marine" type either, your character under the suit is no better than the Koreans, the suit just gives you the advantage to attck 2 or 3 of them at once if you use the suit fully.

Then you are wrong because the weapons in crysis are more innacurate than arma 2 which is a simulator and cod weapons are not as accurate as you think, tey cod4 and cod waw.. see how innacurate the weapons are in cod4 compared with codwaw? Jeeez everyone is a liar.
