Crysis is so unstable

Don't get me wrong, this game is really great. But there's so many things wrong with it. Objectives not updating, objectives not even working at all ( have to disable a transmitter on the boat and it wont let me), AI is stupid at times. Im literally watching this small gun boat drive into this big war vessel and not doing anything. On foot theyre smart. I dont know. Just hard to play this game cause it doesnt work at times. Is it just me or was it hard for everyone else to play the story? Any fixes?

Agreed, I had to complete a level 3 times all the way through before the evac helicopter showed up where it was supposed to.

Well apart from MASSIVE optomization problems with the last level, Crysis ran fine for me.

The menu is horribly buggy, moving you in and out of a maximised (I know right?) window. But wait till you get to the last area the aircraft carrier. I have not seen such a shoddy/unpolished level like that in years. Its almost unplayable. Enemies clipping in and out, players falling through floors, abysmal optimisation. biggest_loser

Yes i bought the game. Got the maximum edition with all 3 disks. And i find myself driving around and being stopped be invisible walls or a small stick stops my entire truck. Enemies sometimes inside objects. Taking a whole clip to kill. What else... well it crashes alot..Some lighting problems in that ship carrier level. Went inside of of the buildings by the warship. It looked all lit up and a brown haze/debree was in the air, then i turn and it goes all black like a dark room. Bug maybe, i dont know. Hate when objectives dont update and you have to reload again and again.

One of the patches is doing that. Check the official site to find the right version for your game . Colision detection and AI went stupid. Depending on your system this can be a CPU thing to. I had similar problems with FO3 fireing 80 EC in a ghoul and doing nothing. It`s a bug that occurs randomly in many games, reinstal and patching usualy fixes the problems mostly , and it can occur when one of the patches gets overwritten by a second one.

system spec. It can be a pure performance issue, the haze/debree in the air I mean.

Note. Crysis Maximum Edition comes with 4 discs.

Out of all the problems you listed I've only experienced the AI bug with the boat. Never had a problem with progressing in the campaign, and I finished this game twice. As for the 'please insert CD' problem, I think you may solve it by clicking 'play' through the autorun menu instead of clicking the desktop shortcut.

And yeah, the Aircraft Carrier level (i.e. the last one) is notoriously bugged. However, I solved all problems by running the game in DX9.

It didn't work perfect for me and there is nothing wrong with my computer nor did I pirate the game. Just because some people have no problems with games doesn't mean others don't. I've played many a game without a single problem only to read of game breaking trouble for others. You may want to save your hubris for when this happens to you.

Try running it in DX9, it's more stable that way. There's configs that makes the game look just as good in DX9.

Well first off i still cant start the f****** game. Sorry for language, this is just stupid. It keeps saying insert the right disk or something like that . Now i just got : Unable to authenticate orginal disc within time limit, Try again?

Like really.... this is absurd. How else can i launch this freaking game?

I don't recall ever a small gunboat being snagged to a warship (there's really only one location halfway through the game where that might happen). Also, which level has a transmitter on a boat that needs to be disabled?

Okay. It's clearer now. The transmitter is on the cruiser. I was thinking of a boat, not the warship. Duh on me. I had no problems "using" the tansmitter and then later calling an airstrike on the cruiser. As for the boat problem, I'll have to replay the level (it's actually Assault, right after Relic) and leave the boats nearest the cruiser intact. I usually took out the boats first every chance I got.

None of those sites are helping me. Looked for crysis and theres nothing to install.

It may just be a silly conflicting issues. You may also want to start from scratch. Uninstall Crysis, do a disc clean, defrag, make sure your drivers are all up to date. This stuff is stuff you'd want to be doing anyway, so you might as well do it now and ensure the best conditons for Crysis to work. Then install Crysis again, patch it and try. If it continues happening then I assure you it's not the game.

With maybe the exception of a checkpoint not loading (and thus being unable to continue a mission) one time I've never had issues like that with Crysis. Yeah yeah, just because it works fine for me etc. :roll:

Ya i saw it but when i downloaded the thing nothing happened. Never mind i change my resolution lower now its working. For some reason it wont run at my monitors native resolution ( 1920x1080) so idk that mustve been it.

The only issues I had with the game are:

1) The controls for the VTOL are ****.

2) On the last level (Reckoning, on the Constitution) the game has a 50% chance of freezing, 25% chance of blue-screening your computer, and a 5% chance that the extierior environment renders in negative colors.

I've never had any of the issues you're referring to. I had one problem with a script not working on the last level (which has serious performance issues) which made me replay 10 minutes of gameplay. That's about it. Aside from the game being demanding, my experience shows that playing with the game, your system and your drivers up to date you should have a smooth experience.

Unpatched games' bugs.. cd drm issues, try Steam.

Hmm... thats interesting, since so far I haven't had any problems with Crysis. I guess im just lucky =).

Main problems I had with it revolved around memory leaks and graphics related crashes. And they were only on the carrier. Warhead was actually really leaky the whole way through.

I haven't had serious issues with either Crysis or Warhead since patching both. There are a handful of places where respawning KPA was an irritation if I didn't move close enough to a base and trigger an automatic save.

Then there's that bullet sponge nanosuit in Awakening. I didn't have much of a problem in Reckoning aside from the frame rates dipping down towards the end. Taking out as many flying aliens as possible helped tremendously.

With plenty of aliens still around. Frame rate was around 26fps:

With fewer aliens left. I also switched to DX9. Frame rates went up to 36fps:

When I wiped out all the aliens aside from the mothership. Frame rates went up to 44 fps:
