Hey there I purchased myself a new computer about two months ago and in that time I have had alot of issues with it (damned Vista). However most of those issues I've been able to resolve, except one. When ever I play Crysis, my computer has a hard time playing Crysis even on Medium settings in some cases. When I was putting the computer together it was with impulse and just kinda went with it. However I still expected to play Crysis at least on high settings. Initially i thought it may have been my RAM as I originally started with two so I purchased two new sticks and then realised that I got a 32 bit system and it probably would not detect it all. It did however which really confused me and the computer itself does run faster, however no improvement with Crysis. I just get alot of lag and slow performance overall

Windows Vista

Intel Core 2 Q6600 Quad-core 2.4 Ghz,

4 GB of RAM,

Dual nVidia 8800 GT 512mb

Your CPU is definitely bottle-necking your system. At 2.4, dont expect anything playable in Crysis on all high. You'll need at least 3.0ghz and even that isnt enough. Hell, I'm at 3.9ghz overclocked CPU with HD4870 and I still dont like the results I get. Everything else looks good, you just need to overclock that CPU. Crysis is a GPU hog, but no so much CPU. But having a slow clock speed will bottleneck your PC.

You could try overclocking, but (IMO) the bottlenecking thing has gone way out of proportion.

I'd suggest trying different drivers (8800GT should run high @ resonable resolution, easy) AND making sure you enabled SLi through control panel. Make sure there isn't anything running in background (Norton AV, Windows update, etc.). It sounds like a driver issue though.

I learned that CPU is more important than GPU when you get high-end. My PC can max all games with little difficulty (without AA maxed on some), but Crysis is a different story. I can even get the game to be playable on medium, MEDIUM. I did beat the game because it must have used to run a little better, but I still have to squint my eyes to play..

I think if all background processes are off, it could help, but as of now I need some on.

Crysis is a great game though, I just found out that my next PC build I will shift 200 dollars from GPU to CPU :) I actuall though I was getting a great CPU and I don't think it is bad, but Crysis hates it.

People,People its not his CPU its Vista and DX10!

Run the game with Dx 9 which will almost double your fps and then you can run the game on high no problem.

Hmm I was kinda worried about that ha. . .

Ah well, none the less though their are tons of other good games that I still want to try out . . . Any suggestions at all? I mostly like FPS, RTS, and some adventure or Role-playing games.
