Hah...

H:L is boring, repetetive, ugly and just plain retarded.....

It had me addicted long enough to go to the 3rd station and then uninstall it.....is that a short while?

Gahhhh....

Now I have to take another shower while humming the song for the Crying Game....

Right now I a playing the Longest Journey and it is the only adventure game that I am managed to play for more than three hours. The whole idea of shaking my mouse across the screen just so that I can find some lever or tiny key I missed among the myrad amounts useless objects drives me nuts. So does the whole finish every puzzle you can design even if it is in no way related to the story, but you should do it so that you can get that uselles piece of wire that will come into play in three hours so you can complete the next puzzle design.

I liked the Longest Journey (I only played it recently) I played it after completing the sequel - Dreamfall. The first one - TLJ, was a better pure adventure game, because Dreamfall for me had fewer or easier puzzles. There was a point where I had to consult a walkthrough because I missed a bit where I didn't move the mouse over the right part of the screen, but in retrospect all the clues were there for me to 'get' that I should of put my mouse pointer there. If you play the game by just moving the mouse across every inch of each screen you not only won't enjoy it but you will miss things. Use your brain and eyes first and you'll find it will be easy to find the bits you're meant to. This is one of the best adventure game series, stayed tuned for part 3.

Hey JP_Russell, Have you played it????

Anyway back on topic - I'm about half way thru Crysis - I didn't like it at first because I had just finished COD4 and was comparing it to that. The joy of Crysis comes from the firefights. If you've got it set to easy - you're missing out. Get creative like Mr BoJangles suggests. Let them chase you into a portable cabin and then chuck a grenade out the door when they've all come close. Go prone under a building and shoot their feet. Or just go from cover to cover using invisibilty and sneak passed them. Use speed skill to run straight passed the badies and hi-jack a hummer and then mow them down with the 50 calibre. The possibilities are endless. NOW, think about firefights in FEAR or COD - boring.... (well not boring in COD4 but you know what I mean)

Nope. I've played way fewer adventure games than I'd like. A great deal of my nearly 200-games-long wishlist is made up of a bunch of the old adventure games that I haven't played yet.

In any case, I'll have to be careful to find the regular, US edition. Dreamfall uses StarForce in Europe, and the original, limited edition copies of the game in the US also do.

Psshh, oranges are so better than apples.

You could buy it from Steam. Because of the way StarForce works, a Steam distribution won't be able to have SF protection.

Well obviously it's a really crappy game since there's a thread right under this one telling us about this crappy game going platinum. Crappy, crappy, crapo, crap.

To Me Crysis is a Big Tech demo. You can beat the game within 3 1/2 hours, The AI arent so great can be very dumb, Phyics is weird in ways, Story was interesting but Crytek didnt make it indepth as they should have. Replay value is "OK" , gameplay is all right some things make it too much of a Farcry Feel. Crysis has a linear feel to me also even thou you have different ways getting to the same place NPC's act the same hide toss a nade then, hide or when your cloaked and right in front of them they dont do nothing. Crysis isnt worth the best FPS title, as some place it. Most if not all game reviewers gave the game 4+/5 or 9+/10 rating. But theres a few who looked pass the Graphics and seen what lies beneth.
