Crysis Singleplayer Demo Direct Download !!!!!!!!

I've read a bunch of performance reports. Based on those (in the majority of cases):

- DX10 is supported, but doesn't run that well (keep an eye out for optimizations

- DX9 in XP runs better than the beta

- DX10 in Vista x64 crashes, although a few people have reported success (no performance data at this time)

- Quad cores are not being utilized

I've got a troyan warning from Nod32 in page 3 of this forum... Did anyone else had the same problem?

Wow this game is really cool. I am playing it is 1280x1024, dx9, everything set to medium. I am getting between 27 and 34 FPS measured with FRAPS. My system is 4200+ X2 (Oced to 2.6GHz(, X1900GT (OCed to 580MHz), 1 GIG RAM. The game is very playable like this.

So far I am loving the game, the weapons are great. But it really does seem exactly like FarCry. Just way updated. But it's the same basic thing. You are be directed by some guy on a radio and the island, bad guys, boats, bad guy camps, etc are EXACTLY like FarCry! There is nothing wrong with that because FarCry is one of the best games of all time. But why didn't they just call this FarCry 2 and extend the game off of that story line? Or if they are still going to do a FarCry 2 it will be weird because it will be so much like this game.

I did not get any viruses at all and I have Avast running and fully updated.

Have you already tried the demo? Is it really good?

So far the game looks good and plays smooth. Set on medium you do see a lot of trees and bushes kind of pop up on the horizon because the draw distance is not maxed. And the cut scene where you find the guy hanging in the tree looked kind of weird and blurry. But all the cut scenes at the beginning looked fine. Not sure why that jungle cut scene looked so weird.

The suit controls from the mouse wheel button are nice!

This demo is AMAZING! Crysis will be an awesome game, holy crap. And what a great demo, both from a player and publisher standpoint. I am buying it right now!!!

Graphics: truly the first next-gen graphics! Very well optimized as well imo (1680x1050 with high detail, Dx9 8800GTS 320MB...you folks with 7800s or 7900s should be just fine)

Gameplay: awesome, the suit is a nice touch and really works. My only gripe is that the enemies are a bit too tough for my tastes. And you die pretty easy. But, this could be good as it forces you to be smart. No run n gun shooter this is!

Audio: awesome, especially with headphones or surround. When your suit talks it comes from the rear channel, and then bullets whizz by you can actually hear them whizzing by!

Like I said, my only objection is the toughness of the enemies. But its a nice change from the usual easy-as-pie bad guys. AI is pretty good, too. Play this game any way you like it! Stealth, sniper, rusher, melee....its all gravy! I think im gonna go back and replay it using only my two fists!

Well, these steps are what I do:

1. tone down AA. If youre at 16x, go to 8x....if youre at 8x, just turn it off
2. tone down shadows (medium works for my 8800GTS 320MB)
3. tone down post processing and volumetric effects...they look pretty when they happen, but you dont need such huge detail considering explosions arent that frequent

I think for my settings I have everything on high except for shadows and post processing and water, which are at medium, and it runs great at 1680x1050.

So far the most amazing thing is when I was hiding in a house and a bad guy threw a grenade in at me. When it blew up the entire house collapsed around me! The roof caved in and the walls fell down! WOW! That's real physics!
