As most of us now know the beta was very unoptimised but now that the demo is very close, what do you expect from it and your machine?...with all this talk about it being really well optimised and hype from the company I really wonder at times just how well will it be optimised, could it be like UT3 or will it be another BETA experience but in a SP package. I'll start:

Specs:

Core 2 duo E4400 @ 2.67GHz

BFG 8800GTS 320MB OC

2GB 800MHz RAM

What I got from the beta:

1280*1024 @ Medium and got a steady framerate of 30FPS and dipped to the low 20's at time's.

What I hope to get:

Im expecting nothing less than 1280*1024 @ High with atleast 30FPS+ call me optimistic but its only rasional for me to think this especialy since reviewers and cryteck them selves have been boasting day in day out on how well it will run on older machines.

PS: No talk about the details of the BETA just the performance and settings, dont want the topic toget locked.

I want it to run on medium on these specs:

AMD X2 DUAL-CORE 3800+ 2.00Ghz

2 GB OF RAM (I have 1gb now but I'm planning to upgrade)

250 GB HARD DISK

ATI RADEON X1600 PRO PCI-E DVI 256MB

MSI 7.1 INTERGRAND SOUND

Do you think I'll be able to play it on medium on a low resulotion(1024x768,800x600,640x480) with one 1GB of RAM ?

i'm:

4200+ dual core amd cpu

2gb ddr ram

geforce 8800gts 640

21" monitor upto 1600x1200

i hope/expect to be able to play crysis at high settings (not very high)@ 1600x1200 dx9 in xp, withsome of the flashy advanced settings on, at 20-40fps

if i can get that with my current pc, then i'm happy - and frankly, if i can't get that then crytek has failed terribly... it's a beautiful engine, but if high end machines can't run it maxed in dx9, then it's a poorly built engine that isn't ready for the mainstream consumer

Thanks for the info! I'm just sad that my two last gen systems aren't going to be able to handle this for mini lan-parties at my house. I'm expecting my laptop with 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 800MHz Ram and a 256MB 8600M to be able to run this one on medium with some high effects. If not then I'll be grossly disapointed in the Crytek engine because my laptop is running Unreal3 games on high with 30+ fps.

I've got
Core 2 Duo E6420 or something of that nature (2.13ghz)
ATI X1900 256MB
3gb of RAM (DDR2 533)

I'm hoping to get Mediun at 1680 by 1050

But i am upgrading my 3 gigs of RAM to DDR2 900 and getting an HD2900XT w/1gb of RAM or an 8800GTX soon....or i may wait to see how the HD3000 series does. Once i get my whole new stup (December) i hope to run it on DX10 at a 2 step down resolution. (1360 by 768) 16:10 ratio or something like that.

Yeah I was just pondering about that...Will Cryisis in DX10 give a better performance than DX9 as they advertised it to be or will it completely give your performance a -10 FPS just cause.

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz

2558MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

jpph

no the minimum is 2.8ghz cpu

Please do not spout stuff that you have no idea what your talking about.. That being saidyouare wrong.. AMD 64 uses a different technology the reason why they use model numbers such a 3200+ is to compare it to a 3.2ghz of the pentium.. Its more or less the exact same performance of a 3.2ghz pentium which is higher then a 2.8ghz cpu.

Im expecting nothing less than 1280*1024 @ High with atleast 30FPS+ call me optimistic but its only rasional for me to think this especialy since reviewers and cryteck them selves have been boasting day in day out on how well it will run on older machines.

PS: No talk about the details of the BETA just the performance and settings, dont want the topic toget locked.

sadikovic

Well I got High setting in the beta runing 40-50FPS.My rig is,

E6420 @3.4GHz,GIGBYTE P35 DS3R,3xDDR2 800,8800GTS 320MB 594,1512,1008,2x 160GB HDD in RAID 0.

But your CPU will probley be what is going to hold you back.Your E4400 only have 2MBs of cashe. And some test have show that could mean a 20% proformance drop on newer games like crysis and unreal 3.That means you CPU at 3.0GHz would be as fast as a stock E6600 @ 2.4GHz.I would try and OC you CPU a lot more if i were you.A E6600 is the minimum for Hight settings.

Im still hoping to get very high once the demo and full version comes out.

Check out my signature image for my PC specs.

What i got in the BETA running at 1024x768 resolution and medium settings was an average of 30FPS and dropped to low 20's when i was in close combat situations.

What i hope to get in the final game is to be able to run it on high settings at 1280x1024 resolution or 1024x768 and manage to stay at a constant 30FPS+ lol.

Somehow though i doubt i'm going to be able to run Crysis with a smooth performance at all :(!

3GB DDR2 Ram

8800GTS 320 MB

E4400 2.4 GHZ Dual Core Processor.

What I got from the beta: Horrible Optimisation, goes into the mid 30's low 40's when I should get a lot more from it. CoD4 on the other hand has great optimization, reaching as high as 120FPS, with an average of around 60.

What I want:

Great optimization. Can't wait for Demo, it will be the "buy or not" thing for me.,

I just want to be able to play the game even if its on all low settings

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz

2558MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

jpph

no the minimum is 2.8ghz cpu

Oh good, so my 2.8GHz Intel Celeron meets the requirements!

Honestly I don't know why they put a ridiculous number out like that. Clock speed is one of the smallest factors when considering CPUs, it does matter considerably, but my single core 2GHz Athlon 64 processor will out perform any single core 3GHz Intel processor.

Specs:

Athlon 64 3200+, Radeon x850xt PE, 1GB DDR400 ram.

What I got from the beta:

Low quality @ 1280x1024, steady framerate, I'd say around 30 fps, but dipping down to around 15 fps during combat, due to my single core cpu bottlenecking.

What I hope to get:

Low quality, perfectly smooth gameplay, since I have a dual core 3800+ sitting on my desk right now waiting for me to install it.

hd 2900xt 800/2000

2gb ddr 1100mhz

i use a hdtv so 1368x768 at high with no aa will do me well... i think dx 10 will be out of the question.....

sadikovic

Yeah I was just pondering about that...Will Cryisis in DX10 give a better performance than DX9 as they advertised it to be or will it completely give your performance a -10 FPS just cause.

It should give a noticable performance boost actually. DX10 isn't supposed to be about eye candy, its supposed to be about a new architecture that is less demanding on games. Basically their goal was to make an 8600GT perform in DX10 perform close to a 7900GS in DX9.

So as long as your system can run Vista without it slowing gameplay, (and since this is a Crysis thread, it probably can) under the same settings, DX10 might be expected to give a +10% fps increase.

I want it to run on medium on these specs:

AMD X2 DUAL-CORE 3800+ 2.00Ghz

2 GB OF RAM (I have 1gb now but I'm planning to upgrade)

250 GB HARD DISK

ATI RADEON X1600 PRO PCI-E DVI 256MB

MSI 7.1 INTERGRAND SOUND

Do you think I'll be able to play it on medium on a low resulotion(1024x768,800x600,640x480) with one 1GB of RAM ?

E6750 @ 2.67Ghz (gonna OC to like 3.2Ghz by the time it comes out)
2GB RAM
8800GTS @ 640MB (might OC too)
RAPTOR HDD @10K RPM

I got this system pretty much just to play Crysis, so I hope to run it on high settings with decent resolution.

Im expecting nothing less than 1280*1024 @ High with atleast 30FPS+ call me optimistic but its only rasional for me to think this especialy since reviewers and cryteck them selves have been boasting day in day out on how well it will run on older machines.

did you check the fps with fraps? With High Settings 1280x1024,latest drivers,4300 at 3 GHz,2 gigs or ram at 668,8800 GTS 640 MB oc'ed to 612/1512/900,i get an average of 30 FPS.

I am with:

nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 320MB

3x1GB Kingston DDR2 @ 800MHz

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 @ 2.13GHz

and from the Beta of the game I got only 30-50fps in Medium details and 1280x960 resolution!

I wondered to get minimum 50-60fps in Medium and to play the High in 20-30fps, not in 10

Oh, good, an e-peen thread. I've had this rig two months and haven't had a chance to brag yet! :P

AMD Athlon64 x2 6000+ ~3.2GHz

4GB RAM (Mushkin)

nVidia GeForce 8800 Ultra

I'm hoping I can run at 1680x1050, since that's native res for my monitor and, being LCD, it won't look as crisp at anything else. I really don't know what to expect, but seeing as how I built this with Crysis in mind, I hope to get a lot out of it.

EDIT:

Those with the beta, Id like to see some screenshots @ low settings!Tehgiggles

Seconded.

Well, my specs are in my sig and I will be playing at 1680x1050, I think I should be playing at high, but maybe not ultra high or whatever. As long as it looks good and plays better, then im fine.
