I find that I can usually kill a Korean soldier within 2-3 shots if I dont aim for the head carefully. The firing from in the normal mode is uselessly inaccurate - just as it is in reality. Hence the huge aiming reticle. You need to right click to bring on the iron sights or the reflex sights - aiming with them make the guns much much more accurate and give the game a more realistic feeling. Also, as you can tell when you stand still you gun is already a little unstable because of the movement of the hands. It is even less accurate whilst moving and when you hold down the trigger for prolonged periods of time.

btw, if you've ever used an assault rifle before, I think you'll find that Crysis' weapons system is pretty realistic already. Unless you're a darn good shot in real life of course.

This game is foo-king awesome, don't bash it if you can't run it. Headshots do the job great, and granades Are Useful, just learn how to use them.

But I don't get the korean aiming. The boats have some massive sniper scopes or something. I'm on top of a hill 500 FT away, I can barely even see the boat using my Binocs, and it's shooting at me with dead aim.spam-Robot

That is what crawling around in the bush is for. You have to use your surrounding environment to your advantage and keep an eye on the baots to make sure they don't see you. I can get through the whole demo on Delta without having them (as well as the soldiers) see me.

Agreed, I will piss my pants at the nano suit koreans, seeing as how the normal ones are better than you....spam-Robot

Not really... that's most likely just a problem you are having. One shot to the head takes them out quick. You just have to be clandestine about it.

I only used grenades a couple of times because I usually forget about them, but as for the weapons, if you shoot for the head, guys do go down quick. Sometimes you don't have the time to aim so it is kinda hard.

wtf are you talking about, of course the koreans will run when they see a grenade coming. also the game is more challenging at delta, still pretty easy for me though, or maybe I'm just super badass, yeah its the latter.

Strength+Nades=Flying Death. If you land in close enough they can't get out of the way even on delta.

It's called recoil and armor. Bullets don't go where you aim want them to go all the time (I guess you've never fired a real gun?). The Koreans are also wearing kevlar. Shoot them in the head and the go down in one hit. Want less recoil? Turn on stength mode and single shot mode, then snipe away.

But this is a next-gen FPS! It shouldn't be complicated and difficult! I just want to run along a pre-determined path and shoot countless hordes of the same enemies!

I know it sarcasim, but you could always edit the game maps to be just that with ease with the editor.

I don't really understand the complaints here. Surely people are missing out on the fact that your suit rapidly regenerates armor? Oh, you forgot about that little, insanely high-tech fact, did you?

Also, this isn't Serious Sam, guys. You're not supposed to go toe-to-toe with five enemies. Have you just been ignoring Speed, Strength, and Cloak entirely? What game are you playing?

The whole game revolves around your suit abilities. If you don't plan on using them intelligently, don't complain when you have trouble winning battles outnumbered five-to-one.

Don't think they do either. When you're in armor mode, you move more slowly than all the other modes but your health AND energy both regenerate faster than any other mode. Koreans aren't even that tough to bring down if you aim through the sights. They go down fairly easily even if you're shooting at their chest.

The point is to aim through the sights, like you would a real gun, unless you're fairly close. And if you're aiming from long-range, go into strength mode for less recoil and more steadiness. And that's not even talking about speed or cloak, also very helpful and useful. You've got a lot of tools at your disposal with the nanosuit. Use the suit shortcuts, they make it a lot easier to switch between powers quickly, especially in the middle of a battle.

To the people complaining about grenades; real grenades aren't that powerful. Really, I'm in the cadets at my school and our sergeant threw one, the bang is pretty loud but the explosion didn't leave a crater, and the area of scorched ground was small, about 2m sq. (6ft sq). Didn't see the explosion (we were standing behind a wall for safety, obviously) so I can't comment on that. The Koreans do move though, so it would be hard to kill them with grenades, but the number of hits they take is pretty unrealistic (besides headshots), but so are most games; one bullet from an SA80, M16 or AK47 is enough to incapacitate anyone (it would generally blow off a large chunk of, if not all of a limb).

Can we just let this thread die? We all learned Koreans don't have super-hard skulls and that you must really suck ass if your nade throws are BS.

im not saying head shots are useless...im just saying that in a FACT...you(superman) die faster then stupid koreans... you cant always hit the head...and normal koreans die no-matter where you shoot them...

BTW- i dont suck... i finished it on dela...the only difference is they die a bit slower, and that you cant shoot from a jip while driving it

With all this talk of bullet proof koreans...I think I downloaded the wrong version of the demo or something.

I've played through it on Delta a good 20 times now and on average I drop somebody in three or four shots. Maybe it's just my playing style though. I sneak in cloaked and get into a building or some cover and just start dropping people as they walk by.

I've only felt people were bullet proof when spraying on full auto with the silencer on from 100+ meters.

Absolutely...I never use the reflex sight.

I haven't played Crysis because it won't run on my machine (even though it meets min specs), but from reading this thread, the game balance sounds just like FarCry's. That game was so unbalanced it's not even funny...and the ballistics had absolutely no basis in reality. It seems that at some point during the development of a shooter, the devs would get some education on firearm ballistics and human anatomy.

[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"][QUOTE="Swiftstrike5"]Yeah, on delta you can stand on a grenade and pretty much still survive. Not to mention a lightly armored korean can take more hits that a nano-suit. I would have prefered if they just made the AI better rather than making your character take 2 bullets then having no energy left.Swiftstrike5

Your health value is exactly the same on delta as it is on easy. Go check the config files yourself, if you don't believe me.

Damage absorbed by armor is about 2 bullets. I didn't say health...

Armor is the same rating too, buddy.

A lot of players are defensive about the bulletproof Koreans. The developers made the lead character (you) too tough for the AI with all of the advantages of the suit. If they made the game realistic, you'd quickly waste everything, so rather than deal with the issue, they just made the Koreans bulletproof--or, as I see it, made sure everygun the player picks up is a pellet gun.

Shooting a guy over and over, clip after clip, one shot at a time from long range with a scope, and he reacts with every shot but still runs around. It might bethe most inaccuraterifle of all time. It's just obnoxious, sorry. If you wanted to know what it would require to take down a soldier with a C02 pellet gun, play Crysis on Hard (I don't know if they're bulletproof on all settings; this is the only one I used).

Surely 20 shots to the arms and legs would bring a man down even if they have body armor. Nope, not here. Seems like everyone is wearing the mega-suit--including the Koreans. Ho hum.

Let me also add though that the overall interactive physics based world (trees interactive, buildings etc) more than makes up for this minor annoyance with realism and bullets. As I go back to play the game, and trees fall down from bullets, buildings get blown up by grenades, I have to acknowledge, this is the most advanced game I've played. They've done quite a bit here....I don't want to lose sight of the big picture. They have put out the next generation of FPS.

I originally thought the Koreans were rather over endurant as well, then I actually tried removing my silencer and hitting them a close range. When I can hit them with a burst, they go down. So, really, as others have said, you're liking missing more than you realize, particularly with the silencer as it really reduces damage.

I think the difficult overall is pretty good. You can't go rambo style of 3 guys without cover and expect to live. By the same token, good careful aim, and patience is very well rewarded. I would like to see a few AI tweaks mind you (like the guys in vehicles reacting better when you board said vehicle, and the AI does better search patterns again silenced sniping.

I love the korean nano suits, you don't seem them that much, but the AI knows when to use strenght, cloack, and speed.

Crysis isn't the only game that has enemies that can take 10 hits from a gun and still live. In CS, it took me 15 shots from an MP5 just to kill someone...from a distance.

I had a hard time with Crysis when I was playing the demo, it's is because I was trying to snipe the Koreans from a long distance(With the SCAR). Now I use the cloak to sneak close to the enemy, put the crosshairs on his head, uncloak, shoot twice, recloak. It's good fun.

In CS, everyone has the exact same health, it does not apply.
