Is the Killzone 3 leak going to force Guerrilla to become a PC developer? Please, enough of this sensationalism.

Now Crytek boss Cevat Yerli has had his say, reaffirming the popular studio's belief in the PC as a viable platform.

No. This information is incorrect. Crytek released an Official statement on IGN, heres a part of it: "Despite this unfortunate incident, we can assure you that PC gaming is very important to us and will always be important to Crytek in the future. We are all still focused on delivering a great gaming experience to our true and honest fans. I hope you will enjoy Crysis 2 on PC, as we think it is our best PC game yet! "

But they also said they were disappointed with the leak. Here's to how Robin Hoods promote PC gaming and advertise products for free. Cheers!

Frankly, when a leak this early happens, I am inclined to blame someone from within Crytek/EA. Someone from one of the companies has to be held responsible.

Gosh I love people talking things they don't even know anything about it, piracy on PC wouldn't stop any piracy as you know or don't know all X360 titles have been cracked and released before their official release date - cracking PC titles isn't going to move gaming to consoles....

Games are too expensive for the rubbish that most of them are. The reason why Netflix is so successful is that it is a buffet of movies. For a flat monthly fee, you can watch whatever the hell you want. Maybe there should be a gaming version of Netflix. Charge a monthly fee and it's an all you can eat buffet.

Were the hell did you read what you posted? It says thats UK gamers words.

But seriously, how the hell the gaming getting leaked by THEM. Is pirates fault or in the end our fault? They gonna blame everyone who did not buy their game for their lack of security and label them as pirates?

Seriously, those estimates are CRAP you cant know how much your game is gonna sell. You cant predict sales and potential buyers, stop making excuses. They twist the words and facts to what works best for them. Like they want to intimitate pc gaming so we start buying every crap they throw at us.

A side note: when alan wake failed misserably on x360 which it was exclusive on because of "piracy", no one bothered to say anything about it. Because they wouldnt want to blame the x360 pirates. When fable 3 is gonna come out on pc and fail misserably, they gonna blame piracy and not the fact that no one is gonna buy a late port of a crappy game that was not sucessfull not even on x360.

Also another thing, i find the whole "Crytek turning console only" thingy downright laughable for 2 reasons. Because crytek never made a console game. Lets see how crysis 2 turns out and then we talk about making more money on consoles. Also crysis sold what? 3.5 million? How much you want you greedy bastards?

According to something i read in wikepedia, deus ex reached one million in 2009. Considering deus ex sold only one million, this pretty much proves 2 things, that you cant just ask to sell more than deus ex and that pc sales were NEVER that high. They just ask for more sales all the time.

With all due respect, they can be "disappointed" all they want. Yes it is up to us as true PC gamers not to pirate the game, but they have to be able to prevent a leak like this as well. I think this is what they are "disappointed" with, as they know the game will get pirated no matter what, and wouldnt be anything shocking.

If they think blaming the PC community for there mess up will get them more sales, then they need to get there crap in high gear. They left us in the shadows with development. No PC footage, what so ever, yet they contuiniously gloated how the pc version would look better then crysis. Then when something like this gets leak they blame the PC community? Please, Blame yourself before you come whining to us. if this is how Crytek is moving then I won't buy crysis 2 till its 10 bucks. I can wait. No rush, I refuse to pay full price for a game where the Dev will make excuses for its poor security.

Funny thing is i was reading an article about the leak and there was a comment under the article saying that he downloaded it and played it and it sucked because it was too consolish with no lean and prone and too easy and linear like it was made for console players. I mean, lets just say that most crysis fans feel that way about crysis 2...lets just say that for a moment. Now lets say that they dont buy the game because of that. Yet crytek is gonna blame it on piracy and the leak  How insane would that be?

I'm waiting for that to happen, its happened in the past with late ports with games were its failed and its just "LETS BLAME PIRACY" Sims 3 was leaked and how many did it sell? 100 MILLION? or was it 100 million in sales? Im just loving how they make excuses for themselves, and blame the other people were if they had you know half decent security on files, the leak wouldnt happen and the pirates wouldnt beable to pirate it. But nooo. Lest blame PC Pirates, cause they have magic that lets them teleport the files to there Pc.

Why would Crytek be upset. It's obvious that they had some hand in it getting leaked. Only an employee could have access to the game in order to put it up on torrent sites so either. A) Crytek allowed the game to be posted by said employee or B) Crytek cannot handle distribution of game content to their own programmers and lack the security necessary to do so. In both cases they should be so upset about the leak, because in the end they played a small part in it's leak.

From your link "Gamers' Voice, the UK gamer pressure group, said it would not be surprised to see a third game in the science fiction shooter series launch as a console exclusive." on the other hand Crytek said "Despite this unfortunate incident, we can assure you that PC gaming is very important to us and will always be important to Crytek in the future". So no the maybe no future crysis titles for Pc came from a group that have nothing to do with crytek

Wow these guys are a bunch of idiots. Most people that are pirating or playing this beta are doing so to see what the game is like on pc seeing as they have kept it hidden from us this entire time. I've played the beta and I"ll still be buying the full game.

They're simply making excuses to not make pc games anymore it looks like.

Yeah I can see Crytek right now pissed in their offices. They were planning on releasing the pc version with no demo and no footage shown that way they can trick people into buying their console focused trash. Now pc gamers see the game for what it is and all their plans are ruined!! I kid I kid.

But i expect the excuse on poor sales to be blamed on piracy and not the fact that a lot of pc gamers are playing it now and not too thrilled with the way its shaping up.

Yeah, I don't know why it took them so long to release a story trailer. They decided to wait until the very last two months to release any worthwhile media. Wayta keep us waiting.

I suspect PC gamers, when it comes to piracy, have some hormones released into their bodies that affect their thinking, because Crytek never blamed PC gamers, not in this article, not in any article that I know of. It's speculation from someone that has nothing to do with Crytek.

They said years ago, after Crysis was launched, that hype hurt the reception of the game and next time they'll make less noise.

Actually it really is quite the opposite if you dabble in the world of piracy most of the time people don't even know what to do with ISO files or even know what an ISO is. If they can get that far most will just complain the comments section about how when they click play it asks to insert disk and don't get the obvious on how it works. Even with this leak most of the "piracy" communities hardly even had it up yet or really cared. Now its all over the place but a few days ago searching for it you almost had to go to the 2nd page of google to find a working one.

Okay, this is getting out of hand. THIS WAS NOT A PIRACY LEAK. This was someone internally getting a hold of an early build and putting it out on the web. It's not like pirates got into their system and stole it off of their servers (e.g. Half Life 2). The piracy is byproduct of Crytek/EA lack of security.

Also, the article is nothing more than supposition made by some independent gaming group not affiliated with Crytek in anyway. My guess is the publisher of this article is trying to make some noise and get some clicks on their website. Looks like it worked.

German developer Crytek this morning moved to reassure gamers of its commitment to the PC despite the Crysis 2 leak, but Gamers' Voice, the UK gamer pressure group, said it would not be surprised to see a third game in the science fiction shooter series launch as a console exclusive.

And we are scared...why?

Oh, because some gaming thinktank says something might happen.

Well, people pay me 400 bucks an hour to speak at court hearings for gaming lawsuits,I have over five decades of gaming experience, and here is my resume with five PhDs in gaming, politics, law, taxidermy, and ice cream making. And I say Crytek will always make PC/multiplat games.

So there...two people/groups saying a boatload full of crap, entirely disregarding what the official developer has said.

Oh yeah, and lets not forget their boss, EA, is pretty damn commited to the PC. Crytek makes the game, EA calls the shots. Dont forget that.

yes they are, but they still have no impact on sales

1. they do not steal any physical product, so there is no loss on a manufacturing end of things

2. they pirate, therefore they are not a customer or potential customer. People need to stop viewing it as lost sales, and view it simply as sales that are not there.

I love all of these news articles that you post from third party sources and that are completely unrelated to what you type yourself.

crytek appears to be abandoning ship over the crysis 2 leak.

grubby pirates may have scared of crytek.. FOR GOOD

as a result of the piracy leak crytek has made the bold move to make all future crysis installments console only. while this isnt definete that it will happen with crysis 3 or any future crysis titles its definetely a possibility their now considering and its the way their approaching the franchise from this point forward.

thanks.. thanks pirates youd eserve to all be roudned up and shot.. you scared of crytek!

This article is pure sensationalism bullsh1t in the search for more clicks on the web. Crytek just said after the leak that will still support the PC and this platform will be very important for the company. This is like claiming tha Bungie leave Halo due the Halo Reach leak a month before the release last year. British journalism, what can you expect?

Also I think that Crysis 2 will sell even better than Crysis 2 in PC.

Games are too expensive for the rubbish that most of them are. The reason why Netflix is so successful is that it is a buffet of movies. For a flat monthly fee, you can watch whatever the hell you want. Maybe there should be a gaming version of Netflix. Charge a monthly fee and it's an all you can eat buffet. k0r3aN_pR1d3

There is, it's called Gamefly.

OK what is priacy leak, its not like priates hacked their computer. the leak was not caused by priacy, it is being priated because of internal leak, so stop whining about piracy and go after whoever leaked it, chances are they signed a NDA of some sort. HL2 was leaks months before released, and the game still sold pretty well.

[QUOTE="Daytona_178"]Yes they are, just go to a website, download some EASY to access software are your sorted! Any idiot spending 5 minutes can pirate a PC game.simardbrad

That's not out of the box, you tool.

Out of the box means turn on and pirate instantly. Does windows come with a torrent program? No. Does windows come with a torrent searching tool on the OS? No. Even at that you will need WinRAR and an ISO Tool and possibly even a Virtual Drive application as well.

It's not very "out of the box" at all.

It's just easier to do than consoles (but they are very easy to do as well).

Compared to the PC, it's not easy at all. People charge money to get consoles "piracy ready"...why? Because it's hard enough that not every Joe Shmoe can do it. Conversely any 8 year old idiot can download and install torrent app and torrent to their hearts delight. Regarding "out of the box" the PC fits that pretty well. A couple programs is hardly modding anything, meanwhile most consoles require a chip or flashing drives or crap like that.

You also have to keep your firmware (if you just did flashing) up to date, and some consoles you risk having your console banned from online services.
