Over the last few days I've been trying to piece togther a new gaming build that will keep me set for a few years. I'm set of a few pieces, ASRock Extreme6, i5-3750k, 670gtx and a new case (probably HAF XM). It just seems to be getting a little overwhelming. Cost keeps creeping upwards of $1300 when I was hoping to keep it at about $1100. Granted I am including a cooler and an SSD. Trying to piece together combo deals for maximum gain is driving me insane. Should I hold off on things for now or what? Any words of wisdom are welcomed.

Swap the case for something a little cheaper.

Ive thought about it. I like the XM though for the cable management and the looks plus Im seeing it on sale for 130. I just figure why put a 670 in some $50 case. I dont know, guess Im stuck between all out and real world. Thanks for the reply though.

212+ coolermaster attach two fans.

Extreme 4 asrock instead.

Look for a cheaper site? You can always drive to microcenter Discounted cpu + -$40 mobo saving $80!@!

8gb ram 1333 or 1600 with respectable timing is more than enough for 1155.

Get a smaller ssd until you can afford a bigger one.

Hd 7870 is creeping to sub $300 region.

Sorry guys it was late last night when I started this. Here's what I've got together so far.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=20820386

Buying the case and the power supply together gets me an extra $27 off and the processor and mobo are another $12. I was originally going to get a new hard drive as well but Ill use my old one to save some money. Thoughts?

If you need to cut more money you can shave $100 of the motherboard. Get a Gigabyte z77 d3h for $130. it's an excellent motherboard. I can't access your wishlist, i think its linked to your account.

You also don't really need an SSD.

You are going to have to make a public wish list so we can see it.

Thanks for the help guys but I got impatient, lol. Got everything but the 670 from newegg because they were out and I got the 670 from amazon. Ended up scrapping the hard drive and SSD to make it work but can add that stuff later. Think I will notice any difference between this new build and my current X2 5600+ dual core/9800gtx+?

The 670 is a HUGE upgrade over the 9800GTX, you will definitely notice the difference in any graphics intensive game. The i5 is also leagues ahead of the old Athalon X2, but if gaming is the main stressor the only games that will truly take advantage of it currently will be BF3 and other RTS games (still a good buy though for the future).
