Darksiders II is a much better game IMO. It is longer and has virtually no filler.
Depends what you are after, Darksiders II has a lot of puzzles, platforming and hack-and-slash combat (all of which are well executed) whereas Sleeping Dogs is more like SR3/GTA IV (but not as good as those games imo).
I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs. It's a decent GTA clone with a Batman-esque hand to hand combat system that's pretty entertaining. The story plays out well (much better than SR3) and I really enjoyed it. Ultimately though, the two games are two different genres. It really boils down to do you prefer an open-world GTA clone or a hack and slash platformer. My preference is Sleeping Dogs.

I haven't spent a lot of time with Sleeping Dogs, but from what I've played it's a fantastic game. However, I say get Darksiders 2 because it's even better. A seriously fun game imo.
Darksiders II is a good fun game. It's bigger than the first and not as combat orientated, there more platforming and puzzle solving. Sleeping Dogs is good too, I've not finished it as I've had difficulty getting into it but that's just me and not the games fault.
Sleeping Dogs can be had for $18 on Amazon. There is a thread on this board about Sleeping Dogs that has the promo code for it.BPoole96
SQRLUVOCis the code.

if you want a GTA fix, Sleeping Dogs is the obvious choice.
if not, just a matter of your preference: a GTA type of game or a mixture of beat em' up and platforming/puzzle solving.
I personally enjoy SD more.

More like sharing slight similarities with GTA than an all-out clone. Kind of like how COD games aren't clones of DOOM 1 & 2 just because they happen to be shooters too.

Although I'd argue that Sleeping Dogs and GTAIV have a lot more in common than Doom and COD, I didn't mean it derisively. I was just refering to it as a GTA-clone as a genre. It's easier than calling it an "open city-style-world mission and auto-theft based crime simulator".
