I have played Company of Heroes for a long while now, and when I first started playing the DW2 beta it seemed to lack the depth and complexity of CoH. However, after finally buying DW2 and playing the multiplayer a bit more, I can see what they were going for. Its much more simple and lacks the depth of company of heroes, but this makes it easier to learn the game faster so you won't get dragged far behind the longer staying players. It also makes the matches more focused and shorter, so they won't drag on like they did in CoH. Its actually much more enjoyable even if it is lacking in some areas (like base building.)

Anyone else agree?

I agree. I always thought that CoH's multiplayer was frustratingly difficult.

I had a lot more fun with CoH than I did with DoW2. Though both are good.

Although DoW is fun, I have more friends who have CoH so that makes CoH more fun for me.

DoW2 is just a gimped CoH.

CoH is the better game. And a Tank in CoH actually feels like a tank, not some paper mache decoration.

Oh, not to mention wh40k is a bit silly in itself. Maybe it should just stick to the toys.

COH campaign player was really good even though I never got around to finishing it but the multiplayer wasn't that interesting to me. DOW2 campaign isn't all that interesting but the multiplayer is fantastic. For me multiplayer lasts longer than a campaign so DOW2 wins.

DoW2 is not for noobs, what makes you even think that?

I'd like to correct you my friend. In 2004 Relic released Dawn of War 1, 3 years later they made COH. If you played the first DOW you will notice that identical strategic point system is present in COH. The main thing that makes these games different is the Sci-Fi and WW2 generes. Personally i like both titles, however i find DOW2 more addicting xD

It's not identical. In CoH every strategic point isn't the same, some are more important than others, like a high fuel or ammunitions point. And every strategic point controls a 'territory'. To have any benefit of controlling a stretigic point, that territory needs to be linked up to your HQ through other territories. So, in CoH you have to worry about keeping your supply lines open, and taking the important points.

In DoW1 you lose a point, oh well we get a slightly less req. rate.

I actually liked the DoW1 games, much more than DoW2 anyway, DoW1 was different - massive armies, crazy elite units, and a friggen baneblade - that's why I really liked it. When the DoW2 beta came out, while I played it I just felt like "meh, I could just be playing CoH, and not this 'consolized' garbage".

I can see why many people will like DoW2 though. Its just after playing CoH for a long while, like long enough to get top 30 in 2v2 automatch, DoW2 just feels too dumbed down to play.

Again, I'm not saying DoW2 is bad, it's just terrible compared to CoH.

I think it means the noobs of CoH could hold their own pretty well in DoW2. :)

CoH for sure. DoW2 isn't even an RTS...feels like a sandbox game with action figures. Anyway I got bored after a few hours, never looked back.

DoW 2, the Last Stand mode is superb, I like it more than the normal RTS mode, but they are both great.

Because it isn't, it's an RPG/RTT hybrid, but that doesn't mean it's not good.

They're both good games, but in my opinion Dawn of War II's inferior in most ways save for faction variety.

For Multiplayer I'll take DoW2...for single-player CoH.

I own both games. I would have to say it was so much easier to become good at DoW2 than to get even remotely decent in CoH. I love the CoH multi but DoW2 is so much easier and so much more fun for me. I just like the tactics in it and while I love CoH for its tactics as well - its just so hard to get right. I want to in the near future but right now Im playing FPS games. haha.
