Dead Island on Steam

IS the game worth $10 or $16 with DLC? Do I even need the DLC?

I am wondering the same thing. It looks fun but I have heard mixed reviews from people that have played it.

GMG already has the GOTY (lol) edition for 20$. Soon im sure steam will too. Next winter sale it will be 5$.

I was going to get it until the review came out. I liked the customisation and the open world set up. Worth it now, I think.

I enjoyed it, its an interesting try that came out meh. Its a bit poor once you enter the linar parts.

It was 75 on a flash sale, the mega pack was 75 both as featured and as flash and that 66 or w/e discount on day one, but yeah, cry more, also enjoy the report because you're too dumb not to report the only word that gets moderated, a word that you keep abusing.

Also, learn to effing write, your format is a disaster, it's like you're suffering from some mental disorders, there's a limit to how bad you can write, even people that barely form sentences in English are far beyond your capabilities (I help for game, yes?).

How the hell can someone put in comparison to Shogun 2, Dead Island and call it "a quality game"...HOW?
Dead Island is a piece of garbage rated garbage by most of the players,rated garbage by pretty much every review site...how the hell can someone take in consideration Dead Island over Shogun 2???

Because people have differing opinions and place value on different types of games and gameplay mechanics? It's not rocket science. Also, the game is sitting at 80% on metacritic that's hardly rated as garbage from "pretty much every review site". Not that any of that stuff matters anyways...obviously it's a polarizing game but lots of people really enjoyed the game and like it. Nothing wrong with that. I think so...so do a lot of other people obviously. Not everyone likes games like Shogun 2 and prefer games like Dead Island instead. Personally I wasn't even interested in Shogun 2. I did play Medieval II and Rome and enjoyed them but not crazy about those types of games. I'm sure there's "quality" games in other genres you dislike too, and simply would rather play a different type of game altogether even if the general perception is the other game is of "high quality".

I prefer Dead Island over Shogun 2 as I dislike RTS games in general.

I am a huge fan of zombie games so I picked up Dead Island in the sale. I have to admit, it is much better then I thought it would be. The zombies in it are great, its nice and gory, zombies screems are awesome, satisfying combat and I like the environment. The only ting I am not keen on is that the game doesnt seem very smooth, even though I have a high end gaming rig. I also got Walking Dead in the sale and that is good!

As Ellan said, its good but not great.

I think there was some great ideas and some not so great ones.

If they could make it a little more open and have a better story/characters it could be really good. The Melee combat and coop was well done though.

As it stands it reminds me kinda of Borerlands in that its not great but still good, especially if you have a friend to play coop with. If Dead Island 2 has more to do also in it (like say New Vegas) I could be even better aswell.
