Hello,

I've been lookin around for the last few week's/month for a new computer and i think i've found one at dell, its the "Dimension E521" to me it seems to be good value for money but is it ?

Specs Are :

Amd Live! 5000+
2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [2x1024]
320GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 8MB DataBurst cache
And 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro + + 19" flat panel monitor , all for £528 ($1,042)

I'd change the GPU to maybe a Geforce 8800 and get a new PSU in total it would cost about £767 ($1534)

More detailed look here : http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/dimen_e521?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1

(then click tech spec) :P

Overall does it seem good value for money ?

videocard is junk... just select the onboard option... to save your money then go get a real video card... Dell are never good value for the money... build your own if you want that.

If you're not into building your own, and you're set on getting a Dell, I suggest you wait for better days. Dell constantly come up with new offers, and it's only a matter of time until they change the gfx option. If you do wan't a comp right away, there is always the cheapest XPS model, and the Dimension 9200.
