I'm looking for a decent gaming headset around the $50-100 range. There's such a huge variety of headsets that I can't differentiate between the good and bad

What would you guys recommend? Any particular brands that you've had good experiences with?

I tried out the turtle beach px21, but I was unimpressed with the sound and mic quality on PC.

I don't care for cross-platform headsets, I'm just looking for a solid pc gaming headset.

Thanks for any input.

If you're located in the States, get the HD 555/ATH-AD700 and a clip-on mic. Both headphones are good for gaming environments sound-wise.

If you can afford the extra cash, also get a good and cheap sound card like the Xonar DG. It'll do wonders for your sound quality.
