I'll be connecting this pc to my 40" Samsung LCD. The max resolution I can use is 1080p/1920 x 1080. E8600 CPU 8GB Corsair Dominator RAM 1066MHz (4x2GB) ASUS P5Q motherboard Vista home premium 64 bit 500GB SATA hard drive. 8MB cache (7,200 rpm) 22x dual layer lightscribe DVD writer GTX 295 GPU On board 7.1 high def audio Antec 900 gaming case 800W quiet quad rail PSU + 120MM case fan Coolit Domino A.L.C liquid cooler for CPU 3 year return to base warrenty What do u think? Should I change anything? All feedback appreciated.
Consider using W7 RC until it is W7 released in about 4-5 months, and then buy that. Vista is being phased out, so if you buy that now, you will have to pay for an upgrade later on.
As for the specs, I only have one observation: You have a lot of memory, but since I have no clue of your intended workload, and the price is quite low, that is probably OK.
Oh, and why not go for a i7 CPU, while you have the wallet out?
With a budget like yours I wouldn't dump money into a dual-core processor like that. Pick up a quad-core chip instead.RayvinAzn
Agreed, I was reading thinking... not bad for a budget... then saw a GTX295 and was seriously confused. 3 year warranty? liquid cooling on a penryn? This build just seems confused. Get a nice quad, get a nice cheap cooler, use windows 7 rc1 till release, get 4 gigs ram, and build it yourself. I don't know where this 3 year return to base thing comes in, but custom PC shops will charge an arm and a leg.
8GB's is too much for anything right now unless you're a game developer :)
And that CPU will never get hot enough to need liquid cooling. I'd just go with the stock cooler and save cash.
Spend that extra money on GAMES!
Everything else looks pretty good - although, I would just install the Windows 7 RC now since it's free and then buy Windows 7 retail at the end of the year.
go with a quad core, maybe an i7 system and get a single GTX275 or 4890 and then later add another card if you want later or wait for the next round. And 4 gigs of ram is certainly enough for now as what has been said. The GTX295 is a powerful card but with the new cards around the corner its too expensive at this point.

That's why I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. The site I'm buying from is called pcspecialist.co.uk. There are loads of drop-down boxes and you just select what component you want then get told a price at the end. I'm pretty sure the i7's weren't listed. Extreme quads were though. I was originaly going to get the Q6600 but I made a topic and got advised to get a good dual core instead? I picked that liquid cooler because it was the best one on the site. If it's not needed I'll change to a standard CPU cooler. The 3 year return to base warranty means if anything goes wrong or breaks they'll fix it for me and replace any parts in necessary. It isn't free but it's cheaper than having to buy another pc if anything goes wrong. This feedback is great. It's really helping me a lot. I'll change the RAM to 4GB, hard drive for one with a 12MB cache and cancel the Vista Premium. Where would I get this W7 OS from? How is it installed?
