Whats the point of paying for a DX10 card with a DX9 op... Why not save money and get a X1950XT if your getting XP

Maybe because some games like oblivion and STALKER need a powerful card,a 8800 is a powerful card.

Anyway to the OP: Save some $$$ and get a XPS 410 with a 8800GTX and a 22",much cheaper,or better yet build your own rig.

He could easily just buy Vista in the future..

and most games will be available in DX9 mode anyway, and from what I've seen there isnt a huge difference between DX9 and DX10 image quality.

It's too bad they don't put in a better motherboard for that price.

There is nothing wrong with the motherboard on the 710H2C. Works just fine.

No, you didnt say it "sucked". But comments like "it could be better", or the other one saying "isnt that great" for a motherboard that scores 17802 on 3DMark 06 are a bit.. off.

And, did I say you said it sucked? :D

Why are you so protective about Dell, do you own that compagnie?

For a high end computer, you would expect high end parts just as well.

Bebi_vegeta

Protective? Naahhh, I just hate it when people talk about a computer I happen to know something about, and they say things I disagree with.

At the time the 710H2C was released, that was the chipset Dell was using, and in Dell's implementation, it overclocks just fine. I can run mine at 3.6GHZ reliably, and the 680 can't do any better. The 720 has a 680 motherboard if that is such a big concern, but it shouldnt be. All this talk about the 590 chipset and the "crap" that it is completely ignores the FACTS behind the awesome performance of the 710H2C. Its just a fact the machine is a monster, regardless of anyone's opinion of the 590 chipset.

Any PC for that price is a monster.
