Theyre gonna add a whole bunch of "cool", flashy stuff like a cover system, a regenerating health bar, theyre gonna do away with an inventory system, problably keep universal ammo in there.

I would laugh so hard if the game pulled a RIDDICk and actually turned out good haha. There would be alot of surprised gamers on gamespot if that happened haha.
No one has any expectations for it, so hopefully they do a decent job on it and we might end up being a little surprised (least i hope so)
They can make the cover system like in Killzone 2 or Tiberium, and MGS4 doesn't have linear level design. I bet we'll have a suit like Snake's in Deus Ex 3.
- Cover system for the combat, which means there will be a TP mode taking away from the immersive quality of the FPS feel of the first game.
- A stealth system where you CANT use shadows but have to use cover instead. Come to think of it that would probably mean quite linear level design then wouldn't it?

I think they'll pull a BioShock - some great ideas, buried in a heap of mediocrity. Consolites are gonna love it.
But I still give them the benefit of doubt. I think they have at least one of the original Deus Ex designers in the team - that guy that made everything possible to be fired from Midway after Blacksite went from alpha straight to gold.

I think everyone is underestimating the inluential genius of Spector on Deus Ex the game .. he kept the whole thing a cohesive vision with his particular take on game design. And it was fabulous.
Spector might of had involvement in Invisible War .. but by then the vision was out of his hands to keep whole .. and it fractured trying to please a market that hadn't even played the original .. tragic .. a shame really .. this might of been when the term 'consolization' got solidified in the minds of many, many gamers .. who knows, I'm divurging.
Anyways Deus Ex 3 is only to be a Deus Ex game in name only .. not by vision .. or a forward-thinking progressive one anyway .. for Spectre will not be involved .. and that there should put the doom and gloom bomb on anyones hopes. No Spectre - No Deus Ex - a meaningful, fulfilling one anyway.
So I think the dissing up in this place is very well founded.
But we can all hope for the second coming if we want .. hope springs eternal :p

dont get me wrong. Deus Ex 1 is likely my favorite game in all the world, and if the third installment redeemed itself and was more like the first, and less like the second, I would be soooooooo happy.
dont get me wrong. I am cheering for this game, I want it to be great, to be, like you said, a "riddick" and totally suprise everyone. I just dont expect it to be.
