[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"][QUOTE="Captain__Tripps"] If your internet goes before you have a chance to put steam into offline mode, it won't go offline and you can't play. Unless theres some magic trick to it.FelipeInside
wat you can go in offline mode in steam with no internet but you have to have done offline mode once before while you were online

That's what he meant Jiggs.... :P

no i think he meant that you have to go in offline mode every time while you have internet

it only has to be done once ever

Offline mode also doesn't work if steam has to update and you haven't restarted it.

No thats not what I meant. I was just pointing out that if you forget, lose your internet, whatever. You will not be playing your games if you forgot to put steam into offline mode first, and you won't be able to play on that deserted island you mentioned... Im not a steam hater by any means but it is DRM, and it gets in the way for some users.

Absoloutely has to be Skyrim if your looking for the best game. Like some else said, Diable 3 feels more like a finely tuned money making machine than a game, the game does not have any depth in my opinion besides the loot. Skyrim is a much better game overall, the combat is much improved, aand i love it in that it rewards in being creative in how you approach/dispatch your enemies, you can combine magic, melee, and stealth how ever you wish. I enjoyed the stories too in that there are so many of them. And finally the world is so richly fleshed you can spend the whole game just wandering and picking up quest along your way.

Ummm... Offline mode. That doesn't happen. So long as your games were fully updated before going offline the last time. And I just leave steam in offline mode all the time, except when I specifically want to see if there's any updates.

Offline mode is glitchy and often won't start if the net is disconnected while Steam isn't on in the background. That happens quite a bit to me on campus and forced me to crack all the Steam games I want to play since they block the ports for Steam...

Just disable your network card and Offline mode works flawlessly. Of course you'd have to keep an eye on your modem to see if your internet is back or not.
