Well I finally got Diablo II last weekend...Yay. I haven't played it much yet. I'm a level 12 Barbarian..It's been pretty fun, but everyone seems to want to run through everything without even working as a team, or planning. They just run and get one quest done, then run to the next and don't even pick up loot (and tell me to hurry up as I pick up loot). That's not fun at all... :(

Anyway, how does the questing work? Do you have to start all over at the first quest in every new game? If so, that sucks. I've noticed you keep your waypoints game to game... That's cool...

I've also noticed when I join games it will say "you've completed this quest in a previous game"....I really don't know...I know I've done the first quest twice with people...So does that mean you do have to keep starting over?

That would suck when you get to like level 50 and have to keep starting in Act I...

When you complete a quest you can't do it again. Bosses in quests respawn when you make a new game. For stuff you need to turn in usually one person can do it. However for things you need to make yourself you have to pick it up and the game will spawn them once for each player to pick up.

Basically if you have done it you can't do it. If you enter a game when it's been done you gotta remake to do it. To make things for a quest you have to pick em up yourself like horadric cube quest stuff.

There is a level restriction for hell. It's like level 50 or higher I forgot. Just ask in chat and someone will know. Nightmare has no level restriction. Goodluck and have fun :). Don't forget to play 2 hours or more if not your char will be unusable after 7 days of no play time.

Your first run through the game really should be in sigle player. You get the most out of it on your own without woring about other players.

Yeah, but it sucks...I don't want to spend time leveling my single player character, when I have better stuff and twice the level in multiplayer (I'm level 6 in single player).

Unstoppable, I really don't understand what you said...LOL .... So if I complete act 1, and join a game in act 1, I can't do anything but have to do stuff? That's what your post basically says to me... I asked nothing about nightmare or hell..... I'm confused...

Every time I join a new game, do I start back at whatever quest they are on, or where I left off? Can I start a game at Act II once I get there?

I JUST GOT DIABLO II ALSO AND DOWNLOADED VERSION 1.11. mY PROBLEM IS THAT ALL OF THE RECIPIES FOR THE HORADIC CUBE DON'T WORK, EXAMPLE, PUT ONE SAFIRE AND 4 THAW POTIONS, 1 RING , HIT TRANSMUTE AND YOU WILL GET A RING WITH COLD RISTANCE. IT DON'T WORK. DID THE NEWEST VERSION ELIMINATE THESE RECIPIES?

The online portion of the game was garbage from day 1. To answer your question, once youve completed a quest it is done and you cannot repeate it. Online has only 1 purpose and that is to get high end loot. So what you will see is people piggybacking to level up on Baal runs then joining games to kill something specific so they can all bum rush the loot and you need to compete against them for it when it drops. Cheaters are everywhere in this game and many use bots for picking up loot when it drops so if you think you can actually outclick someone to good loot forget about it. There is no organized looting system in Diablo nor is there any organized trading system within game. Furthermore all the good items for trade are usually illegal duplicates and are erased every now and then when the servers are cleaned. RPG style coop is virtually non-existant in that game just a mad rush for better loot.

If you like organized coop and such in an RPG (without monthly payments) I recommend you try something like NWN & NWN2 once the online bugs are ironed out but honestly they arent as fast paced as Diablo if you like that type of gaming. There are other good games out there too just do a search.

LOL ya considering this game is six years old and still has over 50 thousand people playing online, Blizzard sure made a dud with this one.

Yea, play single player. Multiplayer on B.NET is a cess pool of botters, farming, duping, and just trying to improve your character through any means possible. If you're going to play multiplayer, get a friend and play privately.

Popularity is and never will be a measure for quality. If you are American you should know better since this is one of the sticking points our founding fathers made when drafting the constitution and creating seperation of power. Nor is money a measure of success although most people have trouble understanding that so lets not go into it here. Was the game a success? Sure but it is still one of the worst online games I have ever had the displeasure of wasting a weeks playing time on.

D2 is probably quite hard to get into atm. @ OP people don't want to play as a low level char, they wanna hit ~80+ and have some fun so they're in a hurry

I find this is best. The only way I can enjoy D2 online is in a private game with friends. The community is full of jerks.
