One of the top rated comments when I watched the video:

"too bad cinematics aren't gameplay."

Jesus f-cking christ people it is a Blizzard cinematic and you know what Diablo 3 gameplay looks like. ffs

It looks like new loot will work around it... There are pics from the panel of this announcement of best in slot legendaries being bound on account.

Agreed. The loot you got was awful to promote their RMAH.

I thought loot 2.0 was supposed to be included in a patch. Am I correct to assume this won't be the case anymore and you'll have to buy the expansion to get it ?

R4gn4r0k

No.

Also the transcript is wrong on a couple of things. For example there aren't 6 new legendaries. That was a comparison between an act 3 run right now where only one legendary dropped and a Reaper of Souls act 3 run with 6 drops.

I thought they said they were going to make legendaries rarer, but more meaningful?

I don't see how they could possibly make them rarer. I've got almost 500 hours in D3, and I've only seen 3 legendary drops. Looks like they're making them both more common,  and  more meaningful, which sounds fantastic to me. I love everything I've read about loot 2.0, and the new act looks sweet. Pretty sure I'll definitely be getting this, but probably not right at launch.

Good to hear. I'll give Diablo 3 another chance when loot 2.0 arrives in a patch (probably around the time this expansion releases) and if I like it more than I did in may last year, than I might buy this expansion pack.

You have to love how Blizzard releases a broken game then charges you for an expansion that only fixes a small amount of the problems plaguing the base game.

Ill be interested to see how this turns out, Diablo2 wasn't super amazing until its expansion pack.
The biggest issue for me with D3 atm is the replay value, in D2 you didn't mind doing the same areas over and over again, but with D3 it got borign after 2-3 playthroughs. Blizzard has been known to make some great expansions (warcraft2, starcraft2, diablo2,etc..), ill def be keeping an eye on this, I just hope this new area has TONS more quests and more random events.

lol they better have a good incentive to buy other than the small bits of new content they are planning to deliver. Losers cant even give proper PvP and they think an expansion is okay. lol. Either it should be cheaper or come with everything they promised from before and more. We dont need more for the AH and to be honest Id be happy if the AH just plain disappeared. Game became a farming mess and we deserved better than that. Especially those who preordered.

How do you suggest they handle PvP smart one?  You bitch about how it isn't there, but ignore how complicated of an issue it is.

The gear in the game makes it damn near impossible to balance since there is no "standard" of gear... Its not like PvP in an MMO where everyone reaches what is essentially equivalent gear at some point... How do you balance pvp when every single person is wearing RNG generated gear?

Item level nerf? Item level inflation? Normalization in PvP? If they did any of this what would be the point of even getting gear if it doesn't benefit you in anyway because its stats are squished or inflated to be on par with the gear of others?

They should have thought about that a long time ago. I won't be wasting any more money or time with this broken series. The only thing that's remotely "Diablo" about these games is the title.

I wonder how it will work with existing characters? For Diablo 3 I only got to the second level of difficulty, so will I be right to use that same character to play the expansion without the problem of being too low level? How about new characters?

Ditch the auction house.

Add in enough new content I cant blow through it all in a couple days.

Give a difficulty level that is actually difficult.

And give me some levels that dont feel like re-treads of old dungeons and Ill be happy.

I really really wanted to love diablo 3 but no matter how hard I tried I just couldnt. I didnt hate it, but it was inferior to both 1 and 2.

 Diablo III can't be fixed.

There's only one axis in the game: increase your damage per second. But whereas in D II some variety in form of damage and efects were provide here its only damage and cold damage (a bit less damagey but with a bit of freeze). So Sacred damage, Arcane Damage, Electrical damage, Fire damage... are only cosmetics.

Due this, players are utterly focused into things which afects the dps: critical hit damage, critical hit chance, increased attack speed, cooldown recutions... Due no exciting afixes exist no exciting loot can really exist: eider you find a item that enhances your dps or its just useless.

In the same grade, build diversity is really lacking: aside from hardcore, in which survival chances rules, the builds with better dps are prevalent. As example, in Barbarians tonadoes are dominant since day 1.

So, no true end game, no decent pvp, no variety or exciting features, Diablo III is an arpg game about loot which fails in terms of loot.

I like the Crusader class. That's the highlight of it all and of course smart drops should have been in D3 since the beginning. But I hear no diablo fan pointing out that there will only be one (additional) ACT? That's horrible.

Can't be too surprising. LoD only added one act.

If there's anything truly to complain about, it's the level cap boost making all gear currently owned worthless. LoD didn't do that. Sure, you got upgrades with LoD, but it didn't trash all of your D2 current loot. Seems like they're treating D3 expansions like WoW expansions.

A reset to the game's economy will do it alot of good.

Yup. I also felt like Blizzard did a really lazy job with The Crusader. They used the same character model of Barbarian and slapped on armor. Ooo whee. Sure, it's easier to fit armor on it and push it out.. but I was hoping it would get a unique character model like the other classes. Seriously, it bothers me that much haha. It's like games where all the NPCs look exactly alike.

I really couldn't give a rat's about this expansion pack or Blizzard at the moment. They've dropped well away from the top tier of developers. What they produced with D3 was overly safe and not the work of multiple years in development.
