My god... They haven't done anything for the past few years working on it. Where is Diablo III? I wanna go kill Mephisto's twin brother with a well designed Fireball explosion! or a Blizzard or Ice Nova!

WoW did not kill Blizzard, it just made tham rich. I want Diablo 3 or a retelling of Diablo 2 There are other areas of Diablo that Blizzard could do, like make an MMO out of the Sin Wars or something...

If by "killed" you mean making millions of dollars every month, then yes.

Eh I don't think they will ever do a Diablo 3. It is to classic to make anything good out of it. The reason they made WoW was because it was a next generation thing that would make them lots of money. It worked and they are going to keep doing what works, Diablo 3 doesn't work

Why not? C&C3 is working atm, despite what people may say about EA. Pure Nostalgia can go a long way. I would pick up Diablo 3 in a second, and I'd bet others would follow my lead.

rest assured, if Blizzard made a sequel to any one of their series, it would be a best seller....in particular starcraft. Besides....its not like a few year gap is unusual for blizzard. they always make games slowly.

Yup. this is what i tell WoW people all the time. Many things they have done with warcraft in WoW wouldnt have happend if the origenal cast and crew were there. I tell many WoW friends this i say this as a hardcore warcraft fan.
If by "killed" you mean making millions of dollars every month, then yes.Colonel_Cool
What he means by this isnt killed as in the company shrival up and die financially. He is refering to if blizzard has strayed away from their origenal values and ideas. WoW most likely either wouldnt exist today or would be quite different if blizzard was still as it used to be. Im sure WoW could have been much more, i think even current WoW fans would agree if we somehow were given the chance to compare both the nonexistant WoW of past blizzard ideas and the one we know of today.

Yeah, someone needs to buy starcraft and diablo licenses, blizzard isn't worth making them anymore, all the good people who worked on Diablo and Diablo 2 have left (ArenaNet(Guildwars), and the dudes who are making Hellgate). I doubt there are any people left from the starcraft/warcraft team...

Its best they stay away from Starcraft, too much hype around it that chances are it is only going to disappoint even if it turns out great.

considering what happend with Starcraft: Ghost, one of my most wanted games, I think this is pure nostalgia. We play for fun, they make games for money. No that it's a bad thing, it's business they're doing, but... we get sad :(

Hang on a second, has everyone here forgotten about the article on gamespot the other month? It was from Blizzard and they said "they have not forgotten about their Starcraft & Diablo fans!" They wouldnt have said this just to keep the fans sweet....So expect a more official announcement some time this year :D

Unrelated. Some Blizzard devs left not because of WoW, but because Vivendi's gaming division was thinking of selling off Blizzard. Some employees wanted to have a say in that decision but since Vivendi owns them, Vivendi never let them speak up. A bunch of them got together and said they would resign if they didnt get a say in the decision....and Vivendi simply let them resign.

How exactly is this related to WoW? Its not.

Im not complaining though. The end result of those guys leaving are Guild Wars and Hellgate:London. DOesnt seem like a bad deal for gamers.

Blizzard has sat on their cash cow long enough, now that there is an expansion for the game out they really need to start showing us some new games.

They have had multiple dev teams over the past 3 years and if they have nothing to show for it, not even a few screenshots then they have really sold their souls.

If anything WoW's capital has ensured that Blizzard will be around, making games for a very, very, very long time.
Blizzard had announced at UK Burning Crusade launch that they haven't forgotten about Diablo and Starcraft and that you'll see something within a decade.... I hope they meant within THE decade, like before 2010 and not A decade 2017. lol.

This is stupid. Blizzard has never been a company to just churn out mediocre games. Do you want them to start? World of Warcraft made them a ton of money just like every game they make. If you want to play this decades Blizzard game then I guess you better start playing World of Warcraft.

I thing WOW's graphics right now are a bit dated and I thing they should continue diadlo series. What else can they do with wow?If they create a game similar with wow but with starcraft's or diablo's story they will make much more profit if that's what there thinking.

Even if Blizzard did announce that, who says that they won't mess up the next Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3 with no original devs on the team.  They may take the original idea behind the games and wipe it clear and try to make it "new and interesting, next generation maybe".  I mean, I'd be happy with an original remake of Starcraft with better graphics, with same everything.  Not saying that I don't want anything new to come around, but I dont want them to make a bad remake of the perfect game.  It's kind of hard to make something better than perfect, there is no increasing the greatness of those 2 games.

Well I can see where the author is coming from. I played WoW for 2 yrs, quit just before the expansion. Its was fun, but now I'm over MMOs and want something different. Most of us have been waiting for a new Starcraft since it came out years ago. I also could totally Blizzard doing a Diablo 3, though it might be more of the same, that's fine with me.

Most of the people that left were from Blizzard North, the creators of Diablo. The makers of Starcraft, plain Blizzard, are still around.

Yeah that's true, it's hard to improve on perfection. And yeah if they released Starcraft with nothing more than a 3D upgrade, with full camera control, i'd buy it.I would. It's that damn good.

As far as a remake-like game, well you wouldn't need the old developers, the gameplay is already all laid out. Also, new people usually bring in new ideas. Besides, I think its unfair to say Blizzard might screw up sequel just because people come and go. I think you have to judge them fairly by their track record. So far, so good. You have to admit, in comparsion with other companies rushing out games, Blizzard never has. To me that means at least they give a damn about their reputation. We can only hope for the best and demand it.

I think they have forgotten the other games a while now. They are making new patches for wow every week and I don't believe that they have the time for the creation of other games. They just want to keep the fans of starcraft and diablo warm.WOW won't be so famous for ever so after some time they would take advantage of the other two franchisees. But I am sure they didn't even started developing any game. They will start when things with wow won't be looking so good.Because of the dated graphics I thing it won't take much time for other competitors to released a game that would face up WOW.Warhammer maybe can do that.

there's no such thing as an original development team. Blizzard works in different division. Blizzard North and Blizzard. North was the diablo division which had a few ppl leave after the release of the diablo 2 expansion. Nothing related to WOW.

Franchises Blizzard needs to kill:
Warcraft
Starcraft
Diablo

Those games are all great, but its time for something new.  I know, I know, we all want Starcraft 2 (myself included) but the fact is I sometimes doubt the talent Blizzard has.  I mean, how much of Blizzard is in Warcraft, or how much Warcraft is in Blizzard.

Personally, I would like to see them make a first-person shooter.

No i mean really like, think about this:What if Monolith, Valve, another excellent FPS dev, had been charged with making a Starcraft FPS.Like a real FPS, y'know? You could've been a marine, and had access to many weapons and skills, they could've even added experience so you'd improve and get better as time went on.And it'd look gorgeous and have excellent combat and stealth.Think about it...

The experience and the improvement thing trough the game doesn't sound so good(the FPS games usually doesn't have that). It is not a  bad idea but maybe it will be better if it looked like metal gear solid.Anyway I don't think we will see a starcraft soon.

Deus Ex meets the Starcraft universe.  I like it, although it would be a ripoff off of Alien vs Predator (Marine = marine, Alien = Zerg, Protoss = Predator).

But then again, that would be why it would be so great!  And if you had the RPG elements of Deus Ex, woohooo!

It made them Rich so therefor they no longer need to make more games just keap updating the same old ones.
