If so How do you like it? I've had a blast so far and it far exceeded my hype. I was a huge fan of the first and the second is many times better. Are you enjoying it so far?

Why buy it now when I can get the game for $10 in a few months? I don't buy any game full price unless I expect it to blow me away, like Guild Wars 2.

This. Valve sneaked it day one DLC, and the PC version isn't supported as it should be. Not heavy on content either. Not day one.waiting for a dirt cheap summer deal

The DLC is purely cosmetic and has nothing to do with gameplay, as for support, as far as I can tell its fine (after all it did just release this morning), as for content, what do you mean? It is a puzzle game after all.

:P Hey, what is this, you ask who bought Portal 2, and then try to convince everyone who hasn't to see it your way? I don't like what Valve is doing, period. I'm not going to get it full priced.[QUOTE="gmaster456"][QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"] This. Valve sneaked it day one DLC, and the PC version isn't supported as it should be. Not heavy on content either. It's ok, i wasn't that serious.
I just don't like the DLC, it seems so unlike Valve.
I'm going to wait until user levels are possible and the price is dropped, every review says that the game lacks content and re-playability.
Those are the two reasons.
Good thinking.Split it with a friend when the 2-pack was on sale. So I pretty much bought my copy for 40 bucks.

No I haven't and from what I read about it being a lot easier than the first, I will not be getting it.
Yes I did, and my mind has been blown by the game. It's great! And I don't think I've laughed that hard at a video game in a long time. The story, and dialog is just outstanding. Well done valve. I would buy again given the chance. Definitely recommended. ferrari2001This was pretty much my reaction and I'm only 2 hours in. This game did not disappoint AT ALL. Well worth full price imo.
I'll pick it up when it's $10. Portal was a fun little puzzle game (for $5) but I never found it that amazing so I don't really have a problem waiting for the sequel's inevitable price plunge.
The main reason I am not buying portal is simply down to the fact it does not offer me enough content to warrant a full price purchase. I have no interest in co-op gaming and I never touch multiplayer which leaves me with a less than 6 hour SP campaign with little or no replay value (after you finish the puzzles why do them again ?).
I personally think Valve should have released the single player part of the game as a budget title (£10-£15) and done a full retail release for the single player and multiplayer version. As it stands I may pick it up during a sale but by then there will be bigger and better games. Oh and before someone goes "yeah well Quality > Quantity" I happen to be more of a fan of Quality + Quantity > Quality and if a company is expecting me to pay full whack for their game they better give me both.
Sort of. The pc version came free with the PS3 version. I am downloading the Steam version now. I wonder how much better its going to look on my GTX580 compared to the console version ( which looks great by the way. ) Does the pc version support the 360 controller...that would be great.

Wait there's no tools for making your own levels? That was one thing that could've made the game amazing.
Got the 2 pack with a buddy on steam. 40$ for an awesome game at release. Plus an extra copy of portal :)
It's worth the pricetag and I don't think it'll go down in price any time soon.
Another reason is that I support devs I like by buying their games at full price, Valve has become one of those
And yes I had to get it day one because to me this is a megaton release, just like any Zelda, Halo or whatnot.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do not think it will look any better on PC as opposed to console will it? Just doesn't use enough resources to make it stand out between platforms. A Valve guy said all versions look completely identical, unless he was saying that just to make the console peeps happy. (spose you can enjoy a better resolution, but do not think much else with your computer)

Well, they aren't released yet.yes, amazing game worth the $40 i paid. I would gladly pay more. The campaign is surprisingly long and just as witty and rememerable as the first. The puzzles are also just as fun and a bit more complex. The coop is really fun and possibly the best coop game that actually uses both players. The graphics are also surprisingly good for the dated source engine.
Simply outstanding. I took 9.5 hours, listening to the hilarious dialogue, looking for every hidden easter egg(And I missed a few, according to my achievements), etc. I freaking loved every second of it.
Honestly, one of the best games I have ever played. I can't wait to start co-op with a friend tomorrow.

Like most multi-platform games, the PC version will benefit from the much higher resolution and sharpness of textures and of course, less jaggies. Although I think the console versions look pretty sharp as with most Valve games in general. :)Yeap, and I wish I hadn't, at least payed what I did for it. It was a fun game, didn't expect the SP to be longer than it was but I at least expected it to be harder. It was so damn easy. Haven't tried co-op yet, will probably give that a go one day soon.
I had bought the 2 pack (For my brother and I) and I'd rather pay full price for a Valve game, rather than 5$ for an Activision game. I mean, Vavle is giving us Steam and Great games! The least people can do is show support for them and get it at full price. I understand that some people are unfortunately in financial problems, it happens to everyone and I hope those people can get back track asap [manly supportive hug :D], but my mini-rant goes for the cheap people.
Loving the SP so far, I stopped at Chapter 3, gonna continue more tonight. Co-op is very well done, enjoying that as well :D I also couldn't care less about cosmetic DLC. It's completely optional and people using that as an excuse not to get it are dumb. No offense. Crappy overpriced map pack DLCs... that I understand why people have a problem with, but cosmetic.. really?
