Sort of. The pc version came free with the PS3 version. I am downloading the Steam version now. I wonder how much better its going to look on my GTX580 compared to the console version ( which looks great by the way. ) Does the pc version support the 360 controller...that would be great.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do not think it will look any better on PC as opposed to console will it? Just doesn't use enough resources to make it stand out between platforms. A Valve guy said all versions look completely identical, unless he was saying that just to make the console peeps happy. (spose you can enjoy a better resolution, but do not think much else with your computer)
Like most multi-platform games, the PC version will benefit from the much higher resolution and sharpness of textures and of course, less jaggies. Although I think the console versions look pretty sharp as with most Valve games in general. :) I found left 4 dead 2 to be completely unplayable because of how awful it looks on the the 360.. lol. But yeah, well worth the 44 bucks I spent on it. Its been nothing but hillarious and awesome.Ok guys, so at what price point will you go it's time to buy? For me I think it's $20-25, is when I'll probably make the purchase.
Is it me or the SP games seem to be shorter than they used to be? I remember buying Final Fantasy 7 on the PC for $50, and that game took at least 50 hours with minimum exploration to complete. Now, you wait for years for a quality Valve title and finish the game in 1 day :( And not very many extras in there. Replayability should be a high priority for SP games, but it's not sadly.

Lately, $10 - $15 has been my sweet spot and even then, on occasion, I've felt ripped off (yeah, I'm looking at you Mass Effect 2). I used to buy games on release day all the time but lately, not so much. For me, most games have simply become too short and too shallow to be worth anything more than $15.

Wait there's no tools for making your own levels? That was one thing that could've made the game amazing.

Eric Wolpaw said in an interview here on Gamespot that there are tools to make your own levels.
Well, they aren't released yet. Don't you just use the same tools as other the other source games?$49 on Steam..."I don't think so, Tim".
It looks like a fun game, but I'm going to wait for the price to drop.
saw it was $50 bucks... mmm... bought it.
Loving every freaking second of it.
Co-op is brilliant. me n a buddy stayed up till the wee hours of the morning playing together and it was very, VERY entertaining.
Definately worth the price tag. It's well rounded, it has GREAT and amazing new mechanics to the portal systems, and it actually takes a brain to play.
I would recommend this in a heartbeat.

No sadly. I was in my Gamestop today, had a copy in my hand, and ended up buying a copy of Mortal Kombat instead.
As far as I see many people waiting for price drop - well guys you are wrong by doing that, it's not as the original game which was short and well kinda off story; this time the game looks better, with better storyline, more levels - much more levels - and most important with a co-op mod as well. worth every pennyPredatorRulesWrong? lol please. Smart I'd say, because the price will drop. There will be sales.. Wrong cause we didn't spend as much on it as you did to get it as early as you did? hmm Bias much....

Yup. That's the reason I got MK instead. I know I'll be able to get Portal 2 for around $30 in about a month or two. I'd rather wait then pay full price. Patience is key.

At least you've got something good instead - good choice, enjoy MK :)Until then, I'm not wasting my money on this short puzzle game. I kinda regret getting the first. The puzzles are fun for maybe 20 minutes and then you get bored.shakmaster13
It's not overly short - I got 12+ hours out of the two campaigns, and I'm on about 20+ now that I'm playing through with the commentaries turned on. Nor is it boring, unless puzzles and sharp writing aren't your thing.
Anyway, Portal 2 once again proved why Valve are the best at what they do.
I loved every minute of it, and don't regret spending $45 on it (even though they gave me a free copy a week ago). The writing, puzzles, characters, visual design, pacing...everything about it is much better than the original game, and that's saying something since the original was so good.
I get why people were reluctant to buy it, thinking that Valve weren't going to be able to turn a basic concept into a full-blown game...but they succeeded, in one of the funniest games I've played in years.
So, message to everyone: buy it.

Nope, doesn't deserve the price tag, when it's $10 I'll get it though.abuabed
It's definitely worth more than $10, but to each their own. I got a free copy via the potato ARG and I still don't even remotely regret spending $45 on it.

It's a Valve game which means it will get discounted a lot soon, I'm sure it's a great game.I was wrong about this game.
It's worth every penny.
A friend from steam convinced me to buy it to play co-op.
I like the co-op, but i like the SP better. The game is very funny, the music is very good.
The flaw is that the puzzles are not very challenging, and before the gel comes in, they are also very boring.
Portal was better when it comes to this. But still Portal 2 was funnier. And the ending was epic.
Console port?
No. It's just as much a PC game as any other Valve game. Not much replay value, but my time with it was worth everything i payed for it.
I guess i will replay it again in a few months.
Yes and it was honestly one of the best SP experiences I've ever played. It may have been short, but I got it for $35 and I gladly would have purchased it for the full $60 if necessary. It was worth every penny. Valve is the Pixar of the games industry.
I was nearly tearing up during the turret symphony. There's only two games in the series and it was still incredibly sad to leave it all behind, likely for good.
