So Disciples 3 appareantly released in Russia only, last December 2009. Anybody have any news on what's going on with the International release? Anybody played the Russian version and can give us a review? Much appreciated.

From what I heard, it suckshttp://www.ag.ru/reviews/disciples_3_renaissance
Review Score : 40%
User Score : 46%
Drawbacks : Broken, Buggy, shallow, Linear (as in single line from start point to end point) etc etc
edit : if someones is interested in knowing more, akeal has posted a rant over the review :http://ru.akella.com/News.aspx?id=2271
This is the most depressing thread I've ever seen. I can't believe Strategy First gave away Disciples to these clowns.
[QUOTE="F1_2004"]I looked up some russian gameplay vids, doesn't look too good http://rutube.ru/tracks/1004600.html The combat in particular has lost all of its Disciples appeal. Looks like a crappy Heroes of Might and Magic game :|FelipeInsideWasn't the combat always like Might and Magic?
yes... I don't know what the other guy is talking about lol.
I have both Disciples games and they play identical to HoMM
A total shame, that game had such potential, i wonder if the game will still be released in english however. Part of what made those games unique to me was the artstyle and Disciple 3 did look pretty phenomenal on that side.
As far as combat goes, the difference between heroes and this was that battles did not used to be played on a tactical grid. Which is a feature implemented in Disciple 3 but i saw somewhere you could play it old school style.
More reviews, a bit more positive, but overall I think the game is going to be average. There is still hope that the game can be enjoyable if the get the imbalances and bugs fixed

Fans of the series Disciples, awaited the third game for years, did not deserve that. Dat and "Akella" planted them a pig. We thought that in five minutes to 2010-th year of the Nativity people have learned to produce games that would work though, but as Disciples 3 on your computer either does not run at all or will start, but for a few minutes, then fly out again in Windows. In order to blacken the reputation of the authors, did not take any bad language - they embarrassment without anyone's help. What a shame, because a pile of egregious errors and shortcomings lies a beautiful and intelligent game.

No, the old way was each side having 6 squares that you could fill with single units or double-sized units. There were several restrictions to what you could or could not attack on the board (depending on attack type and location on the board). The battlefield was much more close-up since the field was so small, so units looked much bigger and a lot more detailed (they weren't 3D so a lot of detail was put into the look), while attack animations looked very flashy and impressive.[QUOTE="simardbrad"]

So it used to be more like Final Fantasy type combat? I see....well, will have to play and see if the new combat works...give it a chance. Please Log In to post.
