i assume so...if its anything like the new prince of persia or has the same drm...if u lose interwebz...itll bring up a screen that tells u its tryin to reconnect to the uplay server and u wont be able to play while its dc'd
The situation is some what confusing at the moment, until recently Ubisoft had introduced DRM that meant ALL of their titles required you to have a constant net connection (this included HAWX 2). However it has been discovered that Ubisoft have ditched this DRM in favour of authenicating the game only when you start the game up (every single time). It is not clear if this change in the DRM is "official" or just a mess up by Ubisoft and I believe not all games have had the constant net connection removed.
In short to be on the safe side assume HAWX 2 does have the always online DRM and plan your purchasing around that until the situation becomes clearer.
Apparently they have removed the requirement to be online at all times for playing any of their games and now it is only required on installation... or so is my understanding.lucfonzyok, thanks :)
I don't know about HAWX 2 but Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell: Conviction don't need the always-internet connection DRM they only need like people above say "check legitimacy over the Internet every time the game is launched". Ubisoft seems to cut down their DRM with old games only and all their new games will have always-on DRM when you buy them.

from the website:
Ubisoft has confirmed to Shacknews that the always-on DRM in a few of its PC titles has been patched out, including Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell: Conviction. The Ubisoft representative reminded us that this was done on a case-by-case basis and that from the beginning the company had said it might patch the DRM out at some point.
New games, however, may still ship with the always-on DRM, Ubisoft confirmed to Shacknews.

well i know from exp that my steam copy of the pop is pretty much useless...i have to log onto uplay just to start the game...then when it actually logs on...i sit there and wait for it to verify a connection to uplay in game...and when im lucky enough to actually get to the main menu the game is pretty fun...but ubisoft has definitely made me never want to buy another one of the their pc games...good thing i have a ps3...
