i purchased a 8800gtx bfg card that went bad, it cost me $24.08 to properly ship my card into BFG's RMA to get the card fixed (it had a lifetime warranty). Unfortunately they sent me another bad card. I was very upset at this, and wound up shipping the replacement card back (another $24.08). It was received by their warehouse on Aug.12th. Today i received an email stating that they are going out of business and that they will just ship me back the bad card. When i called tech support today i was informed that they stopped receiving replacement parts to fix the cards a long time ago, and that they have been re-shipping the RMA'ed cards back to different customers since these parts were no longer available after "testing" them without any repairs being done.

So basically i spent $48.16 in shipping to only receive a card that is un-functional (artifacts in BIOS and BSOD once windows starts). I am really upset and thought everyone should be warned.

I am also wondering if anything can be done as they shipped me a broken card (knowing it had not been fixed and was still broken), the whole time lying to me.

When I read the first few sentences, I figured that you were just going to make a generalization based solely on your own experience. However, after reading the part where you said that they've been shipping RMA'ed cards back to other customers, I must say that I am shocked. That really blows, man.

Unfortunately not a thing can be done, as they have just completely stopped selling GPUs in their entirety. They have been playing this game with people for a couple months apparently, since they went out of business, where they get an RMA'd card and then send it right back to you. I guess at the time, when you got your card back the first time, they weren't sure what to do about their situation and just started sending cards back to people, without any sort of explanation. Only recently have they been sending out the "sorry we screwed you over" note to people to let them know why they are getting back their same broken cards. Sorry to hear that's it's happened to you. At least you have an excuse to upgrade to a shiny new GTX460.

I pulled away from BFG a long time ago and I am happy I did. I prefer XFX and EVGA anyway. Had no idea they went out of business as I still have an old 8800GT that is still going story....at about 90C.

Why are people so angry at BFG? Its not like they are still in business and not repairing their cards. They went bankrupt, they even announced this months ago didnt they?

I'm just upset that they wasted my money ($50), if they had told me that they were going out of business i could have saved the shipping money, but instead they told to me to send, and resend the card. Also re-sending "tested" cards that have not been repaired as their RMA'ed replacements is just really bad business. I'm a college student so it looks like i wont be playing any pc games for awhile until i can afford a new card, luckily (as well as unfortunately) my BFG 7600 still works!

I should probably knock on wood or this card will break too and i'll really be screwed, Haha!

Well no need to dissed them, they went broke let them end gracefully.
