According to Xfire, over 6300 people play per day, so you can expect anywhere around 9000 people playing it. But from what I've heard, the online is terrible.

Netcode! There we go, that's the word I was searching for, haha. But I agree, it really does break it. I mean, I was a console gamer for while and played tons of Halo 1 and 2 before getting into PC gaming a couple of years ago, but since I never had Xbox Live, I decided to buy Halo for the PC so I could experience its multiplayer on a much grander scale. But after I discovered that if you want to shoot someone, you have to lead them by a good 2 feet while aiming, I pretty much just moved on to CS:S.

yeah, on the demo, it's hard to find a game with a decent connection
Connection is only half of it. I was playing LAN with my brother and it was still pretty damn laggy. We crashed warthogs into eachother, spun into the air, and all of a sudden we both re-appear on the ground as if nothing ever happened.
hey, im getting halo one on pc very soon, but is it that true that the online networking or watever is really bad? like.. does everyone have lag or something?
