I haven't played them yet but always wanted to. Do they feel very dated?

Last I tried NOLF2, it was just as good as I remembered it. Never played the original, sadly. As the poster above me, I'd really wish GOG added more Monolith classics, like the NOLF games and AVP2.

If you can look past the outdated Graphics then yes they do still hold up. Its one of my favorite funny games of the century, they are absolut hilarious and follow Austin Powers in comedy :D
So if you can get past the graphics then you wont be disapointed by the gameplay.
they don't seem to like newer systems, at least for me. the first one usually has stutter issues and the music never plays right, (just like alien vs predator 2 which uses the same engine i think), and the second one has mouse and framerate issues and is barely playable. so technically imo they haven't aged well at all, but the gameplay is still awesome...if they would only work right.
dated? Is there anything like it that feels even more modern?the_hitman_guyNope, NOLF is pretty much alone in using the humour you find in Austin Powers and other Spoof movies with that type of gameplay. Rest of the similar games to that take themselves way way to serious.

First person shooters on the PC, apart from the graphics (which you can mod to look better) don't ever 'feel' dated because the controls are always perfect with the mouse/kb, and the framerate is always great. I honestly don't get what would be your definition of 'dated' concerning FPSs on the PC, apart from the technical aspect.
Anyway, NOLF 1&2 still look good in HD, and have good humor aswell. They aren't my st.yle, but you could give them a try.
Look how MS handled Joanna Dark...yeah killed it.Travis_OdellI liked PDZ but it's so much worse than the original.
I never really liked perfect dark too much, it started off ok, but the story ended up devolving into nonsense. It probably didn't help it was rares follow up to goldeneye, so nothing was gonna live up to that lolPIGNINPerfect Dark is awesome!

NOLF is better games no doubt but it is what it is. Unless you have quick time T*** bouncing in your face women protagonist won't sell just look at Tomb Raider setting the bar.
I'm getting sound issues on win7 64bit. Does anyone know how to fix it? SAGE_OF_FIREAnyone know how to fix it?
Two of the best PC games ever created, in fact still to this day, there are no games like them. Cate Archer the female lead is fantastic, the voice acting, the story lines, and the spy gadgets and guns made these game so enjoyable. I wished they would of gave us a 3rd game, but to those of us who loved these 60's styled spy mission games, nothing has compared. (In fact I still have both of them still in the box) Yes the graphics are dated, but this genre of these games is still unmatched! (GOG are you reading this?)
The graphics are of course dated but both are still a lot of fun. Not many other FPS out there even today wiht such a good sense of humor. Is there anything better than a wind up robot kitten bomb? I still have both my original copies and no they are not for sale, sorry.:P

You could be a little more descriptive..
The only audio that is working is the music, everything else is silent. I'm going to try to re-install it later.[QUOTE="Lucianu"][QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"] Anyone know how to fix it? SAGE_OF_FIRE

There was a setting that needed to be changed but I for the life of me can't remember what it was. Try looking for some posts about this problem in Bioshock forums. Something about setting something to stereo???
Well, I will be sincere and say that I didn't really like them that much personally but even I can confirm that they indeed have some good humour, aesthetically pleasing visuals, diversity, an emphasis on stealth (something rarely seen in modern FPSes), good dialogue, interesting weapons and so on. Overall, the games were great when they came out and considering there's nothing quite like them on the market today they still are interesting and enjoyable (unless you're searching for generic shooter no. 124935).
