No, my friend put all of his components in a cardboard box and he pwns my other friend in BF2142 :lol: EDIT - Just make sure nothing is touching metal!!!

I had my current system mounted to a piece of plexi-glass for about 6 months...

It's not really a good idea though as the system is completly exposed to possible liquid spills, fingers that shouldn't be poking around, tremendous amount of dust and no case makes for using CD drives or USB devices not only hard but a bit dangerous.

Technically no, but it's not just for protecting the components from mishandling, spills, etc. The computer case is grounded, and it protects the parts from electrical damage (except from the power supply)
