Hated those creatures too...easily worst thing about Morrowind, but
i loved the game on the whole.

Stop trolling dude...
Its the only thing that you do.
No one is taking ur posts seriosly because ur arguments are weak and when you dont have weak arguments you troll badly...just stop dude.
Oblivion is a great game, not one of the greatest but still...
If you hate it so much go write a review or blog ur trolling/hate...
No one wants to hear ur shouts of rage ond hate towards a certain game.
And about Risen/Ghotic series...dude those games arent even in the same league as TES series...they are so far behind...
Cartman, stop trolling,
state reasons, not accuse people
of trolling. I have stated why i dont
like the game, please do the same.
Say why you like it, so far you have
not done so.
I only had a couple of issues with it. Mailnly the HORRIBLE leveling system. I should not be able to hold down my spell-casting Key and occasionally press the "Rest" key and be able to fully level up my magic in a matter of hours. It should require some form of effort.kieranb2000
Yo, Morrowind's leveling system could be exploited over the top.
But, it had a real purpose e.g. the requirements for the houses/guilds, not as shallow as in Oblivion, where it was rendered useless as result of the horrible world leveling system there. (Only referring to Vanilla Oblivion here ofc)

Why do you have to write a new line, like at every 5 words. It's annoying.
Writing long sentences is aggravating to read,
apparently you dont share the preference.
Back on topic.
Is morrowind better then oblivion? Or is the the other way? Maybe they are equal?
Anyway i voted "yeah it feel like its uninspired"
Morrowind:
*A huge world that is handcrafted. Diffrent enviroment's / monesters / unique items / Dungeons and so on...
*When you were running around as a little person in this huge world anything could kill you. If you walk in the wrong direction there would be something evil there that would eat you.
*The main quest was alot better
*The Side quests was alot better
*The interface was better... (Mainly because the Oblivion one is made for people that play with controllers
*The cultures was alot better. You had people living in Stone, wood, castle, caves, mushroms, tents (in oblivion they all lived in the same kind of building).
*There was alot more "talk"... By that i meant that if you talked to a npc he would say book long texts explaining things.
Con:
*The combat system was abit sad :'(
Oblivion
*The combat system was improved...
*Yeah... the graphics are better..?
*... ... ... .......
*The AI of everyday NPC's have been improved?
Con:
*Voice acting that is horrible and completly random
*Due to voice acting NPC's say 1-2 lines of text.
*The enviroment is uninspired (randomly generated... Same with dungeons...)
*The culture is all gone... Every race live in the same building. They dont even care over the fact that some races dont like eachother that much.
*Everything leveled with you... Not that it mathred you would run around and 1 hit everything in the end anyway. That is... If you could be arsed to level you could complete the game at level 1 the first time you played the game. In morrowind it took people YEARS to figure out how to beat the game in speed runs.
*It was made for consoles (YUCK)
So yes.. Morrowind >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oblivion.

Nicely summarized!
Tried hard to get into it without much success (around 60 hours), I might have to try again at some point. It has been a pretty generic title for me, not good, not bad, just average.
1- It's hard to stomach the downgrade it suffers from Morrowind and by downgrade I mean, less weapons, dialogues, skills, less customization, copy&pasted world and so on.
2- It has implemented one of the most atrocious scaling system I have seen, in fact, it's a total disaster. Scaling is common and good when it's implemented right, for example OOO has fixed the scaling to what it should have been, soft and transparent.
3- The interface, what were they thinking releasing this on PC like that. It's about as bad as the scaling system. It's not only that it's big and ugly but also clumsy to navigate. It makes you feel like the PC really was an afterthought when everything seems designed to be on console or very low resolution friendly without paying attention to the majority of PC gamers who run their games on higher res.
4- No real politics in the world and no impact. Taking Morrowind for example, the great Houses hate each others with a passion, the guilds sometime step over each others. Being in a faction should make you feel exactly like you are a in a faction, with enemies, friends and shelter. The closest thing in Oblivion to this is the Dark Brotherhood which I admit, really makes you feel like you belong to them.
5- Levelling system, it's a pile of **** let's be honest, it wasn't any better in Morrowind and it's still bad in Oblivion. If there is one thing they could have focus their efforts on, it's this. The concept of doing the acts to level is great, the problem is that you find yourself grinding skills most of the time and grinding skills you don't use just so you can get your stats bonus to X5
6- Buggy, I stopped playing in my last try after an important NPC fell through the world to never be seen again.
In a nut shell, it's not a bad game, thanks to mods and some cool overhaul/concepts but it's very disappointing as a sequel. Hopefully the next step in the series will prove to be better.
Bacp up your argument please, i got no idea what you are saying. All i can say is that the quests are fine, the voiceovers are ok, not amazing but definetly bot bad and the main issue for most people is the level balance. Apart from that some people complain about the repettive worldmap design, but thats how morrowind was, atleast for me. Only fallout 3 felt more varied in map design but also had smaller map.I want to know how many people agree.
It is true, with an insane amount of mods many of the issues
this game hascan be fixed, but consider the base content, such as a limited
amount of voicesand characters. It was in the hands of developers
to make fascinating quests and atmosphere. I enjoyed the dark brotherhood
arc when i played many years ago and some of the shrines, but thats about it.
I could see this game get a 7 at best, anything above does not fit.
Back up your opinions with arguments.

[On a small degree yes. But i dont like dumbed down games, eg i really disliked mass effect when i loved dragon age. But i found morrowind to be way too slow and requiring to much patience from the player. It was not much of a complexity issue or difficulity. It was rather that the game required way too much time from the player to do things like figure out where to go next, level up and level up so you will be able to kill that random skeleton in a random dungeon without fighting him for ages till your armor breaks up and you got a disease, so you got to go to a temple and etc, etc. Basicly the game was too slow and too unnecessarily complicated in its own mechanics. So at some point i got tired of the slow progress and i moved on to oblivion which was a much faster game to get fun out of it.dakan45Say you don't like them all you want, it's apparent you do. Too slow for you maybe, but not for everyone else. Instant gratification FTL.
If you liked Oblivion (and never played Morrowind) then I won't argue your opinion.
If you liked Oblivion (and didn't like Morrowind) you are a console gamer through and through. Yes, that is an insult.
The less intelligent should get games too, that is what consoles are for, so I get really pissy when people want to dumb down PC games like the consoles. Oblivion is the end result of dumbing down and cross-platform development, trying to cater to everyone and no one at the same time.
I played first morrowind and then oblivion and i liked oblivion but not morrowind, Also i am a pc gamer since wolfenstein and doom.If you liked Oblivion (and never played Morrowind) then I won't argue your opinion.

Well i played first Oblivion(with mods only with mods) and then ived tryed to play Morrowind...but i couldnt get in to it...something was not right,so i couldnt play Morrowind for more then 1 day...after that ived tryed several times to play it but i couldnt play more than 30 min. coz i was so boring, soooo boring! But that dosent mean Oblivion is better than Morrowind...i just stated my experience with Morrowind.
And no iam not a console gamer...in fact i cannot stand to play games on consoles...
If i had played morrowind back in the day i may have disliked oblivion and i might be one of those people who trash it for the sole reason that morrowind was "better". Oblivion is a really good and immersive game. It has its faults but then again every game has faults. If people bother downloading mods which can pretty much fix everything thats "wrong" in the vanilla then its definately one of the best rpgs of all time.
[QUOTE="dakan45"]So its a fact because you the hardcore pc gamers say so? Ok no need to argue about it.Etadkm0dzIt's a fact because the game is better. It's like asking a crowd of average Americans what is better, a Mustang or any given BMW? Anyone who know's anything about cars knows that the only correct answer (in this case) is BMW.
The cars have measurable and quantifiable attributes. HP, breaking, turning radius, acceleration, avg. time to break downs, warranty terms, materials, ect, ect, ect.
Not a very good analogy...
In any case, if the question is "which car do you prefer"...there is no wrong answer ;)
I don't think it's uninspired as much as it's shallow. Yes, you can be an evil stealthy thief or a heoic noble warrior, but since the game plays out the same either way, what's the point? What's the point in being a stealthy thief if you can be a hack and slash barbarian and still become the leader of the thieves and assasins guild? Better yet, why can a character that doesn't even use magic become the leader of the mage guild? I think the setting is pretty cool, the game just has some massive flaws.
My brother used to say that also... Then i was on him and we had a huge discussion about if Morrowind is better then oblivion. I told him to try it over and over again. The first times he said i was drunk or high or something like that. But after a while he came back to me and said "Damn... You know you are right... I had a hard time geting started and play this but now after playing it for quiet some time i can say its better" Now i know everyone have their own opinions on what make a game good or not. Oblivion could have been alot better if it used Morrowind (or older TES games) as a building point. Oh well maybe the next TES?Well i played first Oblivion(with mods only with mods) and then ived tryed to play Morrowind...but i couldnt get in to it...something was not right,so i couldnt play Morrowind for more then 1 day...after that ived tryed several times to play it but i couldnt play more than 30 min. coz i was so boring, soooo boring! But that dosent mean Oblivion is better than Morrowind...i just stated my experience with Morrowind.

This is a question of preference, obviously everyone will have different opinions on which one is better, so there is not right answer. Neither game is better than one another, in the end it comes down to preference
I actually love Oblivion with mods. I played the game in 06 without any mods and thought it was just "okay". The main story line and quests aren't that interesting to me, but the vampire, cult and assassin quests are fun. There are also some pretty good community mod quests that are pretty epic. I didn't fall in love with Oblivion until just late-last year, when I re-installed the game on a newer computer and started using mods. My Oblivion file takes up a little over 30gb with mods, and it's worth it.
The reason I don't find Oblivion boring is that it fills a certain niche in my gaming tastes. Oblivion is a huge, pretty and relaxing world to get lost in. It doesn't have the depth that Morrowind has, nor does fill my fps adrenaline itch when I get one, but I really enjoy the world of Oblivion. I guess if I could sum up my views on it, it would be that it's a wonderful place for a relaxing, casual gaming experience.
[QUOTE="dakan45"]The answer is that oblivion is better. It has better ratings on both critics and users and better graphics and gameplay.Etadkm0dzYou're wrong. You don't know what you're talking about. Pls go.
You do realize he's got a higher post count/level than you right? I think Morrowind is better than Oblivion, but don't shove it inside anyone's throad. People have got their own opinions.
I liked the concept, and could look pass the generic story and characters.
It was the lack variety with the Oblivion gates that caused me to stop playing. I sure there are mods to fix most issues with the game, but as yet I haven't been inspired to look into them.

But he doesn't have a higher IQ. There is no opinion in this. He can prefer Oblivion over Morrowind all he wants, but the fact remains that Morrowind is a better game. No it does not remain because it never was, i pointed out with what criteria its a better game and you keep saying that the morrowind is a better game because you say so and you think you are right. Nice display of high IQ right there bud, but you have not proven anything apart from keep saying its the better game because you say so.....and i say you are wrong and oblivion is better since its a proven fact with the logical and real critteria.what logical reasons do you have to support that morrowind is better and its a fact? I am not debating on which game is better, i am debating why is a fact that morowind is better? Because you and the minority says so?
Well i got news for you, both the critics and the majority say oblivion is the better game therefore its known for a fact that its the better game and thats logic. Now what "logical" arguments you got to make to prove that morrowind is better for a fact.
No, it was a very good game. It just needed a better third person mode because the third person for oblivion feels horrible and clunky. If it felt more like fable then it would be great. I can tell you that i spent 90% of my time in that game just exploring and finding cool places. The other 10% was spent on actual quests which i found to be extremely boring.
